So, do you think Snoke/Hux/Ren found out that Phasma deactivated the shields, resulting in Starkiller Base being destroyed? Or were all records destroyed along with the planet? Surely that wouldn't sit well with them if they found out...

If she does return for Episode 8, you have to wonder how anyone knew to release her from the trash compactor prior to the planet being destroyed, too. I don't remember Snoke telling Hux "oh, and drop by the trash compactors and pick up Cpt. Phasma, too, on your way over to Kylo Ren"  

I'm pretty sure Phasma can get out of a trash can.

She's already confirmed for Ep. VIII and I think they know about the comparisons to how Boba Fett was treated in the OT. Every place I've seen it mentioned all say she should play a bigger role too. We'll see...

Oh yeah, I mean, I know she's coming back, and I'm glad about that, because I was really disappointed with her minimal screen time in TFA. I was just thinking about how if the heroes in ANH hadn't had Artoo at the control panel to stop the compactor and let them out, their stories would've ended right there 

  But you're right that they used a comlink to contact the droids, and Phasma would've had the comlink built into her helmet to do the exact same thing. It seems odd that there wouldn't be non-verbal distress signals built into the helmet/suit that she could've activated the moment the heroes ambushed her, though...
