Official Oklahoma City Thunder OFFSEASON 2013-2014 Thread **NEW TEAM,

They are both still injured. Ibaka sustained a chest contusion in the Lakers game and Thabo strained his neck. Liggins played at Kentucky with Wall and them, should have stayed another year and developed a 40% 3 but as you said, his hustle and defense is no doubt NBA caliber.

I'm interested to find out why Lamb doesn't get minutes though. Brooks is FINALLY opening up the rotation, granted injury forced him to, and Lamb still only gets mopup minutes. I wonder if he doesn't work hard enough in practice.

we all know brooks is stubborn as hell.. which i really dont get, considering some of his first moves when got the job

but lamb has been ballin down in the NBDL..

on that note,, sorta.. IF we end up getting the raptors pick this year (outside the top 3.. but still in the lottery), what players do you guys think would fit in best?

if martin isn't willing to sign for cheap AND considering we do have lamb.. i could still see us going after another SG (looked up ben mclemore after someone compared him to ray allen in the season thread.. and he could help with our spacing problem we often have at times AND also be the main scorer off the bench)

- also thabo's deal is up after next season

OR if we could get a talented C propsect.. could also see us going that way

I don't like this class that much, but I'll admit I very scarcely ever watch college ball. I need Toronto to keep winning so we don't get it this yr, then for Bargnani to be healthy next yr and them to stink it up (since they play worse WITH him) so we get it in 2014. I'm of the mind we have to swing for the fences and get a title before 2016 or KD leaves. Obviously Presti or moreso Bennett and the dudes writing a check feel like being cheap to maximize profits is more important though.

Trade deadline is a month away, I can't wait to see what we got cooked up. If anyone will take him (Philly was rumored to have been interested), Maynor you have to believe is gone. He went from full time backup to extreme garbage minutes if not DNP-CDs. I don't dislike him at all,he just wasn't the same player coming off the injury and wasn't playing well enough. Even Reggie I'm hesitant to see as good enough to rely on in the postseason so something could be done there and the backup C. Thabeet, I just don't know if we can play him much in the postseason. He earns some of them, but he gets a lot of calls where it seems like refs just don't like him and are calling on him.

^ me either.. hence why i need to ask

but my hope is, that lamb develops enough to usurp thabo in the starting lineup.. OR if mclemore is as good of a shooter as the stats indicate (again, dont watch), then we can have him eventually start with westbrook/kd/ibaka to help with spacing

then lamb is the main scorer/playmaker off the bench with the 2nd unit..

or if we get someone like the ucla kid.. lamb is the starter.. and he becomes the playmaker/scorer off the bench, since he's being compared to harden anyways

i really could see anything happening.. i think maynor gets moved..

but i could also see martin getting moved, he shot well last night.. but has been in a slump the last 2 weeks.. i just wonder with varejao getting hurt (which was inevitable) will presti try and sell high since (knock on wood) we kinda have to prepare for something potentially happening to martin

FOR ME, everything outside of westbrook/KD/serge/lamb/raptors' pick is available.. also collison is is unavailable

Hey_

Anybody else miss the ball movement that we saw in the beginning of the season?

Hey_

Really liked what I saw from Perry Jones III, DeAndre Liggins, and Reggie Jackson last night.

On another note, if Russ can improve his fg% and shoot somewhat like he did last night though the rest of the season...oof.

^ we really need to see more from lamb.. or actually, i should say, just see anything at all..

since we have to figure out how much or even IF we should resign martin.. then we also have to see what we'll do in the draft

True.

This particular game his defensive effort seemed to be lacking, in my opinion at anyhow.

Hey_

With Sam Presti in attendance at last night's game to witness the smashing of the OKC bench,

do you think he's more apt to make a move before the deadline?

Julius F. Wrek

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night because I was busy watching my Ravens win but by looking at the box score looks like Russ and KD are they only ones scoring with no help

K-mart shot well last night but he only took 10 attempts, I wonder why?

Hey_

From what I've been seeing during these recent games, the Thunder have gotten away from balanced scoring and ball movement that we saw when the season began.

We gotta get back to that if we're going to continue to be successful.

A top heavy offense is easy to stop come playoff time.

Julius F. Wrek

Yea, Russ and KD been on like a historic pace as a duo but I agree, need more. We still can't beat the Heat this way. AV is out for the season so so much for that. I just want another guy who can get 15 every couple games. I'd even take a Mike Dunleavy. We only going 7 deep some games. KD has played 98 minutes the last 2 games.

Hey_

:x Ugh. Clippers commentators are so hard to listen to.

Glad Big Blue won this game though.

I'm glad to see Durant facilitating again.

I'd like it if Brooks let the homie Liggins play a bit more though.

I still think we need a contributor in the low post.

Julius F. Wrek

Hey_

He should play a decent amount tonight, the energy the W's bring is serious.

On another note, this flop warning/fine stuff is ridiculous.

Imma go ahead and give up the idea that one day LeBron'll be warned/fined for his foolishness.

Julius F. Wrek

OKC bench needs to step it up if the championship is gonna be won. Right now I feel like when they're in they're playing survival basketball and not trying to produce. Some exceptions here and there but overall, fail

Hey_

I wholeheartedly agree.

Brooks also needs to be a bit more lax on the rotation as well.

Julius F. Wrek

KD need to get his own down there and help rebound. 18 and 8 assists in the first half is crazy though. They're tough to defend though because our weaknesses defensively (fighting over screens, 3 pt closeouts, defensive boards) are all their strengths

Yeah it seems like KD isn't hitting the boards as hard as he was earlier in the season.

Tough loss. Not the end of the world, they're tough, and we played much better defense in the 2nd half as far as their 3s.
