2013 NFL Draft thread - ( Early Entrees, Mocks, Combine etc )

having multiple picks in the 2nd and 3rd this year will better than having a 1st

this only works if you know how to draft

i swear some of yall overrated the hell out of what the pats and other teams do with all that trading for more picks and they do nothing with it and draft bums

i can agree with that mike, to a degree. we had a streak of TERRIBLE drafts. but i think we've gotten a bit better lately. but there was a point where we just whiffed on DB pick after DB pick

@schadjoe: LSU DEs Barkevious Mingo and Sam Montgomery and DT Bennie Logan will all declare for the NFL draft together according to sources.

Gunna why are all these dudes jumping ship from LSU?

Are they that good or something's going on? :nerd:

while they might wiff they do hit

gronkowski,

ridley,

nate solder,

aaron hernandez,

chandler jones,

dont'e hightower

those are most of their 1-3 rounders in the last 3 years and you have to take in to account they draft in the 20's and 30's

i know they got a boatload of 4 star freshman that may be about to

come up in playing time , no sense in staying another year when

a sophmore has his breakout season.

i dont remember how many exactly they had to have gotten

atleast 11-12 4 star guys last year

That doesn't mean a whole lot it wasn't like the majority of those guys were going to lose playing time had they returned. All those players leaving are all conference caliber players, good players & probably got favorable draft rankings.

Again that is some serious good talent leaving LSU.

That's exactly it, NFL caliber Juniors declare early because they're worried about rising Sophomores.

in mingo's case the time go is now , anything after 10 is a steal.

but you have to figure  aside from clowney he'd be the

number 2 defensive end in the country next year

how far does dion jordan slip now? i have a feeling he's

gonna feel it the most , in terms of dropping on draft day

this was my whole point. people got hyped off the 2009 draft when they had pick after pick and how many players still having a impact from then?

some of yall get way to hyped when u see a team with 100 draft picks on draft day. most of these teams best drafts are ones when they only had 7-8 picks.

the way i look at it 1st rounders destroy your cap space and

are a crap shoot , 3rd round is overrated but theres no denying

the 2nd round is where all the meat and potatoes and the

guts of every team are,

once everyones done reaching for quarterbacks and

whatever teams draft for need you could be getting

a first round talent for pennies on the dollar , so if you get

a premier safety with the 34th pick and a corner that slipped

because of teams going after need and the dumb teams reaching

with the 46th you just boosted your secondary and saved enough

money to get a premier defensive to easy your rookies into

the NFL .

give me a handful of 2nd rounders any day of the week and

twice on thursday

First rounders don't cost cap space like that anymore.
