So, I've seen this issue appear in many of the release threads over the weekend.

You add the pair to your cart, proceed to check out, enter your credit card information, place order and then Finish Line's online transaction system reports a credit card error.

This happened to me Friday with the Bred release, Saturday with the Thunder release and today with the Kilroy pack.

I called FNL and they said the issue is with my credit card vendor. I call the vendor and they said the error is on FNL side and show I've successfully made other orders. The FNL ones are pending but not charge authorizations.

I call back FNL and they're sorry. It's the usual with big Jordan releases. You have to move quick. I'm like the Breds were on their site for like 2 hours, their system just wouldn't take my money. PayPal wouldn't work either.

Anyone know a way we can report the issue? I'm okay with the 30 second timer but this is crazy and a system error is denying customers the opportunity to buy shoes.

i had the same issue to sucks thou , almost had the motorboat awhile ago but i guess they dont want my money , is usually take alot of tries to get in to the system. by the time thou the item is already sold out.

The same error happened to me with the bred 13s.  Called my bank and they said they weren't blocking or reversing anything.  First time I've had that error and I've only order from Finishline twice (Playoff 12s and Answer IVs).

This happens to me every time I order a GR retro release. I have to try CC and Paypal several times and sometimes it'll work on the 5th try sometimes it never does. FNL KNOWS its their system with the screw up but don't like to own up to it IMO because they don't know how to fix it. I'm with you all you tho! It actually turned me away from their website.

P.S. it has the same issue using a PC and mobile on iPhone

Ive stated this before.

FNL uses a dif system tha foot CO- FNL uses what apple uses.. Its a realtime processor that sends your card to ONE authorization and if theres a hesitation you get thrown off and the next person without a hesitation gets the item. Other large companies sell a little more than they have and charge your card/take the money later... FNl takes it as soon as you have the funds available.. There are tons of variables that break down "hesitation" everyone chooses their own.

Can you specify what you mean by hesitation?
And when it comes to FNL taking the funds right away I'm not sure what you mean because I've always had more than enough money in my Paypal and debit card checking account so they can take the funds right away but it still doesn't work.
Thanks

I've noticed I've gotten this more since they changed the release date times to 500am PST. My cc company thinks its credit card fraud and put a hold on the order and call me up. But once I get things cleared there's no more pairs for me to get. I think I'll start doing the gift card thing, just buy a gift card ahead of time.

This happened to me this morning but it says its gonna refund my money so yeah. Im not getting my shoes off finish line anymore.

Happened to me when I first tried to check out for the 13s, just clicked check out again, and it went through no problem.

Same Method I'll use for now on!

The problem with that is what if you don't get through at Finishline at all? Now you have $200 tied up in Finishline gift cards. Not sure I want to take that risk.

Yeah, I believe this is an issue on FNL's end. I've had this happen to me only once on the Kilroy pack re-release. I hit submit to place my order and got the "credit card is not authorized" error.  After trying multiple times, my order finally went through but one of the shoes I wanted was removed from my cart.  I called Finishline and they said it was an problem with my credit card company.  So I called my credit card company and they said they approved the charge and the retailer chose to reject it.  It's pretty much a he said she said thing.  Personally, I trust my credit card company way more than Finishline and their flawed system.  They can't even get lottery emails sent out to all their winners circle members, how can you expect them to have a properly functional checkout?  The only reason I shop at FNL is because of their $20 WC rewards and they're still my plan C for releases.  Otherwise, I would rather not do business with them.

Soo its been a week now and FNL still has several pending transactions on some of my cards from the Bred XIII re-release.. Has anyone been able to get them to release these holds? I emailed them already.. plan on calling them when they open..

I had the same issue during the Bred 13 release. My bank told me that I had an approval and then turned around a second later and got disapproved. I. The call FNL and they told me that my account has been blocked for 30 days because I've tried more than three times on one card ad the system automatically considers it fraud.

So as of right now I can't buy anything off of FNL. Anything associated with my billing address won't work. I even made my wife an account and her cards won't go through. Oh well. I hope I don't need anything from FNL until mid-Feb.

Same thing happen to me on the last Thursday Bred 13 restock... FNL told me the same thing about my card being blocked. But I ordered a pair of AM 90 OG this past tuesday and my order went through. Unless the block is only against Jordan Releases.

that gift card idea seems like a great idea. have you tried it since striking out with your cc during a major release?

HATE, I mean HATE Finishline with a passion for releases. There is always an issue. I always manage to get to the place order page then get that SPA page. They can all burn in hell.

I wonder why they couldn't just unblock you, since you called in and talked to support to explain the situation.

This is DEFINITELY Finish Line's error. I work in ecommerce and have never seen a site so confusing with their errors. I ordered a pair of 10.5s for myself on my own card yesterday, and my friend tried ordering a size 11 and got the credit card error after submitting the order. I figured he did something wrong and entered his billing address wrong, so I told him I'd just order his size 11 for him on my card (because I got into the site a second time after already placing my order). So I got the size 11 and placed the order on my card, which I had just ordered a pair of 10.5s on successfully, only to get the same credit card error he got. So then I took the 11s out of my cart and placed another order for a second pair of 10.5s for myself on my card, and it went through absolutely fine. This makes no sense, unless it was just some error with the size..

It really is like the Wild West on Finshline..

Are the gift cards refundable? I'm really against buying gift cards to use for the purchase if they aren't. Really don't buy many sneakers outside of J's and some workout/training shoes, so I don't wanna be stuck with $200 on a FNL gift card when I'd rather order from Eastbay anyway.
