Anyone in here a real hip hop head? I wanna start making beats but I would like to incorporate things that some of the best producers do every beat of most beats, sort if like their signature sound. For instance Just Blaze beats almost always have a clap in them or Dre always has that specific bass. Basically I'm asking if anyone can tell me the signature sounds of producers like premo or the alchemist or timbaland or p diddy, just the real big name successful guys, thanks.
 
I can help you if you need to know common sounds and drums that 90's east coast producers used

Hey NT I need some of your opinions on some DJ equipment I'm about to buy. Right now I'm just looking for an intro controller to get started with and see how it goes from there. The one that stood out to me the most from the research I did was the Pioneer DDJ-SB2 Serato DJ Controller.


Anyone have this controller or can recommend me a good one they have used? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I would say try and find some kits with some different percussion. Maybe work on your sequencing and mixing. 

Study other producers/engineers also.

But it's definitely work in progress bro. Keep it up.

If you really listen to these people you will hear whatever signature sounds they did use. Beats back then were much more basic so dissecting the elements should be fairly easy. Then you also need to do some research on some of these "Producers" Timbaland for one is a "TEAM" same goes for Diddy and a lot of so called producers.
