People not wanting to spend $250 on a quality cologne thats going to last possibly years are the same people who regularly drop/dropped $250 every week on new Jordans

i don't even think twice when copping shoes, but for some reason i always hesitate to buy cologne for  that much...   i'm still rocking with issey miyake, issey miyake summer 2012, chanel platinum, la nuit, and pure malt.. i've been wanting to grab aventus , but that $250 always scares me even tho i know it's worth it

Strongly considering an edition Blanche/aqua viva combo.
You can't go wrong with either one of these frags. My only regret is that I didn't cop more of the Acqua Viva when @Baise hosted the split. Longevity and sillage are solid with AV. I bought a spare bottle of Chanel Edition Blanche before it vanished from Bloomies. I believe you can still get the Chanel EB from Chanel's website. Great to have these two in the lineup.

What's a good, clean summer time scent? Looking for a couple new fragrances to pick up
Niche Frags:
Atelier Vetiver Fatale
Acqua di Parma Bergamotto di Calabria
Frapin L'Humaniste
Bond HTTP

Designers:
Chanel Allure Edition Blanche
Prada Luna Rosa
Clinique Happy

Don't listen to that analogy, but you might be able to get a sample of Aventus from Neiman Marcus if you want to try it out.

it is pretty on point though

you have $250 shoes and $75 shoes; just like with colognes

people substitute all kinds of things in life to stay within their budgets

someone over on Basenotes probably thinks it's ridic. to buy $250 sneakers just like most NTers would think paying $250 for cologne is absurd

"Worth" is all relative though. He thinks it is. Many agree.

You don't.

Cool.

I spent a little over $60 for a 1oz bottle with NO regrets.

"Worth it" is subjective. If you are living paycheck to paycheck and you're dropping $250 on anything outside of the necessities, it may not be worth it.

But if you got a decent amount of disposable income and want to indulge, then it's fair game.

But you pay for quality. And people rarely pay full price for Aventus. Most catch it on sale or in a split. I got my 2.5 oz for $140 last summer and I still have half of it left. Worth every single penny my man.

anyone who thinks a $250 bottle of cologne is the same quality as a designer at Macy's for $70 is crazy but that doesn't mean there aren't many great designer scents

Like AF said; Chanel is probably the highest quality of the designers along with Dior

Son, regardless of how great a scent is, $250 is too much period. Worth it is subjective yes, but quality on a scented liquid? Its not like shoe or phone technology, quality on a SCENT only goes so far. I understand longevity, etc etc but still.

On that case, ill probably try in the future to grab a bottle on a cheaper site, but $250 is absurd.

Quality.

why are you in the cologne thread bashing subtly bashing people in here? $250 is subjective hence you thinking it's too much and others disagreeing

you don't seem to understand the difference between a niche and a designer cologne; not sure why you are laughing at quality because it's true

i mean i could grab a bottle, but i always be like damn that's a pair of shoes maybe two, let me just get this $70 one right here

wait wait wait I just saw the homie said phone technology

phone technology is one of the fastest products to go extinct

my $250 bottle of cologne I bought in 2009 is still going strong; you still rocking the iPhone 3S?

Cologne isn't meant to last as long as shoes are. I don't know why you'd want a bottle of Aventus for years, it's not wine .

Im not bashing on anyone if ive clearly said a couple times im more than willing to shell out for a bottle.

I just find it ridiculous that people are trying to justify its price. IMO, $250 is absurd for a cologne, no matter how you look at it. If you need to justify its price with this argument or that argument, fine but thats neither here nor there.

If you have 20 pairs of shoes and 20 bottles of cologne you aren't wearing them every day

NT is not in it to buy shoes as a necessity like the majority of the world does

you seem to keep trying to drive this home though; you think it's absurd which is great, that is your opinion

why do you keep bringing it up though? We deaded this issue pages back plus you keep saying the quality is the same which is 110% false

you think $250 is absurd so move on but stop with the "quality " crap

are Lebron's and the same quality as the Starter kicks at Walmart?

First of all. I'm not your "son".

I constantly see you in the jogger thread. You're gonna tell me that $150 joggers are "worth it". C'mon "son".

Selective reading man. Did I not say people always catch it on sale?
