Yeah Hingis called it quits in 07 I think. She was still very young compared to how long people hang around now. I think next year is it for Federer.

I remember she got suspended for coke showing up on her drug test. Did that happen when she made a comeback?

Yeah, I think that is what made her finally call it quits. Since she was facing a ban form the sport for a couple years.

Should be a good final tomorrow. If Serena's level dips and Caro gets a ton of shots back, things can get interesting

Yeah, absolutely hated her when she came onto the scene... she was really good, but so arrogant and disrespectful.  Didn't think much about it at the time, but she was only 15 when she won her first slam!!!  She had a pretty good career... just shifted 5 years earlier than most players...

serena got my vote for the finals... caroline just seems like a choke artist but if she can win her first major then more power to her... as far as the mens final which i would have never predicted i cant pick a winner since i dont know how either one plays... but regardless of who wins congrats to them since it will be their first major victory.. i have no favorites... on another note i hope my giants win on monday night :pimp:

Two players with minimal marketing - no hype beast shoes on feet, no different outfits depending on wether it's light outside or not no 12 swooshes- quite refreshing really. A victory for good play over marketing campaigns.

Asian companies too!

  Li Ning and Uniqlo!

No BS... just good, solid tennis.  Sure, the TV broadcasters won't be happy with this final, but for proper tennis fans, it'll be fun to watch the huge serve of Marin vs the aggressive baseline game of Kei (if he has the energy for it).  Goran vs. Michael!

Forget all those unforced-error & missed-first-serve applauding "fans".

To be honest I think the U.S Open has some of the most annoying in stadium fans of all the majors. Extremely disrespectful. I've said this before but the crowd interference was a huge part of Roddick's 03 run. Too many clowns in Ashe trying to get shine by yelling during points and clapping during the wrong time.

IMO, those fans are probably just newbie's who don't understand tennis etiquette. Just like the fans who are still walking to their seats when a player is ready to serve.

And really, if you think the USO crowd is bad, then I don't know how you catagorize the Parisians at Roland Garros.

I think the FO crowd is terrible as well. It's really a 1a and 1b situation.

Yeah the USO fans have been rude.

What's the major where the crowd makes fun of azarenka's grunts? I found that amusing.

Unfortunately, that was 95% of the crowd yesterday.  Cilic would hit some amazing shots only to be greeted with scattered applause, which was a bit of a shame.

I understand wanting to support your fav player, but gotta give credit where credit is due when the opponent performs well.

Meanwhile, #100 for the Bryan Bros... incredible.
