But goes out on a high as current GS winner. Saw her at Wimbledon this year and she did not look great. Right time. Good luck to her in the future

So the rumors were true after all. Was hoping she'd play during the Asian Swing before she decided to call it quits. Good luck to Li Na in her life after tennis.

Yeah really sad to hear.

Great personality.... gonna miss her ribbing the s**t out of her poor husband

Stacey Allaster must feel terrible right now. The WTA's expansion into Asia was on Li Na's back

Nike, Rolex, Mercedes Benz, Haagen Daz, just to name a few... the Chinese/Asian market is HUGE.

I can see why NIke/JB sends their star players there annually to China.

Even my Sacramento Kings send a group of players along with other team personnel there for years now.

huge market

There was talk a few years ago about a 5th major in China but I think they will have to table that discussion for some time. The WTA better hope they can find another superstar for the Asian market soon

Happy for Ana. Finally proving again this year that pretty girls can also win sports stuff![emoji]128521[/emoji]

People forget that Ana is a former grand slam champion. She should be winning titles and competing for grand slam titles every year. She certainly has the talent

Minus the slams, she's had a fantastic season.  Only 2nd to title-wins behind Serena.

Anyway, it was a great week of tennis for Ana... played so well and was properly good.

Azarenka, Safarova, Kerber & Wozniacki... not bad.

Welp, Serena has retired from her match against Alize Cornet at Wuhan. Not sure what's exactly wrong with her, but she kept grabbing her waist/hip...

They're saying it's viral... I think she even delayed her trip to China cuz of something?  Dunno if it was related though.

Wow... I hope she gets better soon. Her play was nowhere close to what it was during her doubles match at Wimbledon, so I'll take that as a sign that this viral illness isn't as bad as the last.

On another note, that makes Cornet 3-0 against Serena this year...
