American Gangster > Any Kanye Album

jay z fans boys have got to be the worse EVER, in some of yall minds he has never made a bad song or album. dude has 11 solo albums and some of yall swear they all been great.

american gangster is NOT better then Graduation
Name one bad album he's made. Dont worry I will wait.
I'll compare them when KanYe hits ten albums.
Whereas this guy has 5 albums and has missed twice (Graduation, 808s)

I personally loved American Gangster. I'd say it's better than BP3 as an album. I don't understand all the hate for AG.... Now to say its better than every kanye album is pushing it....

What I want to know, why does jay NEVER perform anything from AG? It's like it doesn't exist to him.... Lol

That's pretty obvious  Replace Hello Brooklyn & Blue Magic with Already Home and So Ambitious/Real As It Gets, and there's no reason to ever listen to BP3 again.

So you're just gonna act like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy never came out, huh?  Even Graduation was better than American Gangster...

there was an 'american gangster' tour w Mary J Blige on which he performed damn near every song. he doesnt perform much off the album anymore though.

I saw him at the Home and Home tour, Watch the Throne, and one of the Barclay's shows... not a SINGLE AG song performed.....

Quality>Quantity..

100 platinum albums means nothing when they have no replay value. Not to say none of them do, but like I said before Jay aint dropped a good ALBUM since Blue Print. You can drop any of that trash about him outselling Elvis or the Rolling Stones, but comparing their music next to each others Jay doesn't stand. Kanye saved Jay's career. If it wasn't for people like Kanye, Just Blaze, and the Neptunes Jay's career would have been ended. Jay can't take a wack beat and make it a good song. I know yall heard Ye's Big Brother song.. Whole song is about Jay biting real ish..

Jay stans will never see that pov, but I agree.

RD
BP
AG
TBA

I listen to regularly, and are all classics to me.

Dynasty, Vol. 1, and Vol. 2 are solid. I don't listen to as often tho

The others are meh.

So i guess 1/3 is meh.

I didn't become a fan of his until TBA, listened to his stuff prior and it was just ok to MY ears, didn't wow me but it was ok. For some reason RD just doesn't jive with my ears, it's ok. I agree it's a classic when the topic is brought up to avoid argument, but in my heart of hearts I don't think it is. Even my little brother said it is and he's 20 . If I'm not mistaken, didn't the original '96 release only go gold? I know it went platinum...eventually. But it took a while. It only did gold in the time it was released in comparison to other albums during that time period that went platinum within weeks of release. I guess that's a better way of putting it.

FTR, I listened to RD at work today after reading this thread and still...nothing for me.

American Gangster is one of jays most soulful albums the LP was produced heavy by Puffy thats why some may not get its rhythm but easily in the top 5 jay-z albums for me.

what is this is thread :x.....

AG is not better than every Kanye Album but im seeing more foolishness from the cats trying to put down Hov's catalog

All comes down to preference but I think ill take Hov's top 4 over Ye's

Jay wasnt "Jay" in '96...

He wasnt the big star in hip hop, he took a backseat to Pac, Nas, and Big... among others.

Id listen to Vol 2 and The Dynasty 3000 times over before id listen to the Black Album again, other than Moment of Clarity and Allure.

I've been to 4 Jay shows & I've never seen him do 1 AG track :\

I'd love to see I Know, Blue Magic, or American Dreamin live :smokin

The slander in this thread is at outrageous levels.

AG is a damn good album. Definitely better than anything Kanye has put out.If you really wanna compare them just look at WTT. Jay outside Ye on every track. The two is not comparable. Hov is a legend. Kanye still writing his book.

Kingdom Come was definitely his weakest album. Guess I'm the only one that really liked Oh My God off it.

BP3 was a great album. I don't see how anyone can think otherwise. All this southern music has turned some of you guys mind to mush. Hatin on Hov like he ain been puttin out classics for 16 summers. :smh: :smh:

AG was on point. Is it better than all of Kanye's albums? Lyrically? Absolutely. Overall? Nah

Kingdom Come was/is TRASH!

BP3 wasn't anything special either

Black album is a classic
