The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Traded in some things yesterday hoping to get I:SS but fell short

probably won't even play it for a few months but I did want the LE for Cole's Legacy...oh well

Pre-ordered Arkham Knight and Wolfenstein tho

Was going to post in the Xbox thread that the Titanfall Bundle is $450 at Walmart. Discussion has already been up lol. Its a great deal, good for them! *100% genuine, no sarcasm post*

Do you guys think they'll drop the price even lower in the next couple of months? I don't ever remember Consoles getting a significant price cut (25%?) until 2 years after it was released. (Well not including last year's Wii U)

Is Msft hurting that bad that they cut their recently released console from $500 to "$440" ($500- $60 Titanfall) to now "$390" ($450 - $60 Titanfall).

Every store near me is sold out of the FF X collection smh. For those who have it, have you got use to the remaster music in FF X ? Feels like it takes away a little bit of the nostalgic feel.

Hour into Infamous and I'm having a blast. I'm dying a lot in battle because I just can't help at stare in awe at everything that's going on.

I also found Knack!

that has more to do with retailers. An official MS drop has only been on the UK. Sony has no reason to drop the price

I'd like to see a VR game/ experience that takes place in a International Space Station- type structure. It would have a highly detailed earth model and weather system. Do some space walking. I think that could be really cool.

the tech insiders have said to expect ps2/ps3 levels of graphics for the VR since the main focus will be the framerate. Think shadow of the colossus and journey and less of games on the ps4

That's a shame because you can already interact with photorealistic human characters on the Oculus Rift.

Isn't the rift on a PC tho?

Anyway the main focus of Morpheus should be the experience rather than the graphics. Like walking around in the sotc world and seeing a colossus would be amazing more so than talking to a really realistic person

Are any of you here using the earpiece mic that came with the ps4? If you're not using it, is there anyone willing to ship me one for free in a standard letter envelope? If not, I'm Paypal ready. LMK, thanks.

Hmm...might be time to trade in Ghosts for I:SS at Best Buy come this week then. I was not impressed with this year's release at all. Didn't even prestige once and I normally am good for at least 5-6 prestige ranks each year.

Just checked....$34 for CoD....Think I am saying goodbye to this game, haha

YOU'VE SEEN THE LIGHT

Right, but what I have in mind wouldn't be all that game-like. So really all of the resources would go into the planet detail and inside the station, so you could probably spruce it up real nice.

Ok I get what you are saying. Essentially have a stationary yet very detailed environment. They'd probably be able to do that

What's everyone's thoughts on SS so far? Likes/dislikes? Haven't seen much post about it surprisingly.. Everyone must be waiting til after work

FFX and iNFAMOUS LE's just arrived.

FFX's packaging is much better but there's a normal game case in there and a small artbook instead of the American version which integrates both into one :smh:

inFAMOUS 's LE also doesn't have that smooth embossed feel but the beanie is nice. :smokin

They actually hinted at this before announcing Morpheus but no one knew back then.

Sony is working with NASA and one of the VR demo is having a user in mars.

I definitely expect there to be experiences like what you just described in the future.

NASA Mars Project: The technology demo created in tandem with NASA utilized high-resolution images captured by both satellites and the Curiosity rover to transport a user to the surface of Mars. The rover itself also made an interactive appearance, separately navigated by Project Morpheus senior software engineer Anton Mikhailov on a DualShock 4 controller.

The parts of the landscape closest to the user were crafted from rover imagery, while mountainous vistas in the distance were filled in using satellite data. By depicting the surreal sensation of strolling around a chunk of the Red Planet, the minimalistic demo was the most immersive of those on display and showed off the non-game capabilities of Project Morpheus.

They aren't hurting that bad but momentum isn't on their side so they tried to create it with Titanfall, hence all the deals around including the price drop here in the UK. They figure it's their only chance to keep up and gain a foothold while the PS4 has stock problems.
As for the PS4, I won't expect a price drop this year at all.

I won't go as far back as PS2, but PS3 yes. John Carmack said a game that ran at 60fps on PS3 can be done in VR on the PS4 so something like Wipeout HD.

About 2 hours in and I have no complaints at all. The visuals exceeded my expectations even after looking at so many images and video. Game looks gorgeous in motion. The combat is extremely fun, I only have 1 power so far and I never played out a battle the same way yet. So many different ways to approach situations. Lastly, this game is great at making you feel like a Super Hero without making you feel too overpowered. They do a good job of setting up the story before throwing you right into. No filler at all.
