The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Sony has a lot of good characters, but that's also subjective. Some people don't even know why they don't like console A, B, or C and its exclusives. That's just another multiple page argument to clutter this thread up again.

I love Nintendo's flagship franchises, but it would be nice if they could come up with new concepts sometimes.
What kind of new concepts

yeah they cool

but bet u cant put em all in a game and make it better than nintendo..........................................
If I had the resources to make a game, I definitely could   but in all seriousness a lot of Nintendo characters all come from the same game i.e. Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Bowser, Toadstool etc. so that makes things a lot easier. That being said, they need to get with Square and make another Super Mario RPG, not that Paper Mario stuff :smh:
imagine a 3d worldesqe type mario rpg :wow:

Ah yes, Nintendo. The company known for new and fresh ideas and IP's.

Mario Kart 8? Zelda 13? Paper Mario Mansion Sunshine 3?

That said, the RPG's on DS/3DS are unbelievable.

I could name 50, but I'll just name 10. Try to mix up genres too.

Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Last of Us
Okami
Legend of Dragoon
Final Fantasy Tactics
SSX Tricky
Viewtiful Joe
Bully
Champions of Norath

name ps games that are ACTUALLY good with no sequel :nerd:
Damn. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any...I wanted to say Heavy Rain

Wait til I get home

all im sayin is yes nintendo may reuse their IP's alot
but they rarely copy and paste it then ship it out
they at least TRY to come up with new ideas or ways to play a game
not to mention the games are polished really well

You love Nintendo; I used to love Nintendo. I think we both agree that the games their 1st parties make are usually amazing. I just think we don't agree on the variety.

I'll add Tearaway and Puppeteer also to the list.

Never forget - "Nintendo has enough cash to lose $250 M a year till 2052 and not go broke"

That quote is from 2012. Things have changed since then.

March 31st, 2011:
Cash & Deposits - 812.870 billion JPY
Short-term investment securities - 358.206 billion JPY
Total: 1171.076 billion JPY ($11.527 billion)

March 31st, 2014:
Cash & Deposits - 474.297 billion JPY
Short-term investment securities - 320.918 billion JPY
Total : 795.215 billion JPY ($7.827 billion)

Almost 4 Billion gone out of the piggy bank in 3 years from losses, buying shares and of course R&D.

They can't go on losing money for decades because loses are not linear. They know they can't which is why they're looking for other profitable ventures, hence Qol. You need to spend money to make money and when you're on the back foot, you might have to spend more than usual.

This is not to say they are doomed, they aren't but they are not surviving till 2052 with hardware selling the way the Wii-U currently is.

What are the best RPGs for DS? I just copped an 3DS recently... only have the latest zelda, tales of the abyss, and a couple dragon quests so far....

:nerd:

Not trying to derail the thread, lol. Just downloaded the PS app for my phone, pretty dope
