The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I feel like you have to invest too much money into a PC. Consoles are just cheaper and less of a hassle. You have to continuously upgrade your parts to maximize every new games specs.

exactly false i did a gaming pc years ago and until most recently video games are just now at the level (slighty better) then the pc i made. And that was pretty much mid stride/right when ps3/360 came out. So when you factor the cost of both systems games etc... and then buying them again (well atleast the xbox one.) I still came out on top, not including what i wouldve paid to buy stuff like a gbox/amazon fire etc.... and the fact it can be used as a pc.

Its just ppl cant shake the idea of pc/gaming and the whole "consoles are more convenient" argument...as if you constantly move consoles around. Or the fact it will look weird amongst friends, image and what not.

Is it? because i fail to believe a $400 PC from 2005 would run as good as a XB360 would today
but if you spent a little more back then and built a gaming pc it would be and it would still exceed the xbox one now. Then you add the cost of BOTH system. Plus the fact games cost 2x as much..... You still would spend more. Not even gonna acount the fact that you could go even cheaper and get games from the famous pirate at the bay that sometimes kickaxx...lol

How is The Last of Us on PC?
Ive said this earlier thats why i wouldnt buy a microsoft system (well i dont until they can be hacked or older etc)... Sony is different because they actually have EXCLUSIVE... Microsoft pretty much just makes scaled down pc games not available for sony systems.

I built my gaming pc a little over 2 years ago. I haven't had to upgrade anything since and I play a few graphically intensive games. Plus you can optimize the settings. Games are also much cheaper on PC and there is a huge variety of games. The only thing I would probably upgrade is my graphics card and I don't really need too. It cost me a little over 500 dollars to build it too.

You're speaking on what you don't know. The amount you would spend buying a 360 during that time plus all the controllers and kinect you could have used on a gaming rig that would still be pumping today.

Why would i have to buy a kinect and controllers?
for $400 the 360 came with the console and a controller

I just looked on steam and games are not 2x as much on consoles
so your telling me a $900 PC from 2005 would run better today than an XBone?

Couldn't you just use a 360 controller on a PC iYen

You're right. I have a that 360 wireless receiver in my amazon cart for whenever I switch over to the pc master race.

How is The Last of Us on PC?
Well obviously it's not on the PC, but to say PC gaming isn't cheaper than that of console gaming you'd have to be uninformed or naive.

Why would i have to buy a kinect and controllers?
for $400 the 360 came with the console and a controller
I'm saying if you were the type to purchase extra controllers and all of the extra stuff then a pc would be more bang for your buck.

My bro has a pc and he spent maybe a 1k on it.

That thing is loud as hell.

For 1k that .... better be as quiet as a mouse.

PC games are always on sale so there are times when games are twice as much on the console than it is on PC.

Gaming pads, mouses and keyboards can be had for dirt cheap compared to controllers and kinects and all that other stuff.

in the past they were when you compared digital to actual physical copies... Plus like man above said 900 to buy one already built... You can build a gaming pg for about the same as a xbox one cost and yes it will be much more powerful....hell a top notch pc from yrs ago is still more powerful in terms of graphics... then current gen gaming systems.

I looked up a top tier graphic card from like 07 the geforce 760... and compared to the amd radeon 7790 that is currently in the xbox one... and they are pretty much on par with the geforce having a slight edge. And it was like a 200 or so graphic card. So including processor cost etc... it would have been maybe a few more dollars then a xbox one. But thing is xbox one wasnt available 7 yrs ago. So 600-700 bucks seven or so yrs ago isnt cheaper then what a xbox 360 cost then, plus what a xbox one currently cost?

Then when you add to the fact some games dont even reach the console... Or by the time they do they are already on sale for pc.

Console games can be had for cheap also, and you don't need a key code for them so you can buy and sell used
Console controllers can be had for dirt cheap too, you do know Microsoft and Sony are not the only company's who make controllers, correct?

tbh pc games can be had for FREE!!!! cant say the same for current gen outside those lil sample games and those throw away games. Plus ppl forget it can still function as a PC, as well as a media center ie...gbox/amazon fire/apple tv.

But everyone know that parts run differently in PC than a console. These parts in PC's have to run all that other crap in the background and get bogged down. Like i said a $400 PC from 05 is not running Gears of War 3 like the 360 is

Cheap when ? After its been out on the market for a while. From experience most cheap controllers for the console are trash and are missing some type of feature from the original and this comes from experience dating back since ps1 up to the ps3.

Illegally can be had for free. Same can be said for console also

Look on your local craigslist or facebook groups. can easily get games a week after release for $40

Console and PC depends on your preference. If you like RTS's, MMO's, MOBA's, indie games, or want to run games like Crysis at insane specs, then PC is the way to go.

I like to play platformers like Mario, Crash, Spyro, Ratchet, Sly, etc. and JRPG's, hack-and-slash action games, third person action games, etc. PC never got Red Dead Redemption and is just getting GTAV a year later, and generally doesn't get the types of games I play. When it does, they're multiplats that are already on console anyway.
