Before anyone recommends you some, let us know what you're looking for in terms of price, function, ect.

I posted a couple links a few pages back for someone looking and apparently they werent good enough. But yet Google was too difficult for him to use.

Just good build at around the $100-120 range. I've already looked at the top rated ones on Amazon but i wanted some more first-hand reviews from you guys who've used headsets for a while.

That white Gold Edition is definitely aesthetically pleasing, but I heard the mic quality on it is below average...can anybody who has the gold editions confirm?

i use these skull candy's i found.  Works well, has a mic, "noise canceling" with the rubber ear buds, i dont even hear my girl standing right next to me while i'm playing.  

And i'm always using a headset since i'm hooked up to a monitor with no speakers

Counterstrike: Source was really the only PC gaming I've done, and I still think it's one of the best FPS's I've played. I can go back to it anytime and get hooked for a few weeks. I do like the controls better on the PC too. But I do like consoles because they really are convenient. You're not limited to one spot or a small monitor. And what if you have people over and you want to play some coop games or something? You'd have to tell them to bring their setup or tell them just stay home. Really, I enjoy both, I just wanted to put my two cents in. 

Anywho, I finally started FFX. Not really a good idea because I keep playing it when I need to be balancing school work. I was really young when I played it so some of it seems new to me, really good game.

Thanks, if I do end up getting a Sony set, I'll probably drop a couple extra to get the white ones. I'm also looking at the Razer Krakens

There's a pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on

The MDR10BT's. They aren't gaming headphones but they have Bluetooth capabilities and have a mic on them.

I can use them with my phone/MacBook/PS4

I've got the black ones......they work great

Obviously not as good as the more expensive headsets with real surround sound, but for the price, these can't be beat......and they work on PCs as well

Got mine for $48 along with another DS3 controller and Metal of Honor: Warfighter

sold the game and control for $30 afterwards...

I would say resolution matters. The jump from last gen to this gen is not just better IQ but the higher resolution makes everything look better because there's no up scaling involved.

Also you can't just subtract 900p from 1080p, It doesn't work that way.

1920 x 1080 = 2073600

1600 x 900 = 1440000

2073600 - 1440000= 633,600 pixel difference


Like you said some will care and some won't but it's not a negligible given the choice of better graphics and performance, it's a no brainer as to what to pick unless other personal preferences come into play like you said with the controller or other things relating to either console.

The xb1 can do 1080p/60fps on some games. Maybe it's multiplat games will always be inferior to its ps4 counterpart, but the people who preach graphics/performance over everything should join the pc master race.

You guys are looking at it the wrong way...

You have a game console, $400-$500 right?

You have a computer too, no? How much is that? Around $400-$2700 depending?

Let's say you have an $800 computer. Add that $400 game console and you spent $1200... Before games and accessories.

That's a gaming PC. And guess what? It also does regular computer things too

You don't have to spend $4k on a rig to get superior master race results in comparison to a console.


A lot of people don't want to build a gaming PC because they'll be spending more money on ANOTHER computer.

I see your point. I'm too used to consoles to see the need for a gaming pc that I would also use as a pc.

In addition to how much I prefer sitting on a couch, instead of being all scrunched over looking at a 22in monitor.

I don't want to be uncomfortable while I'm playing games.

I prefer osx, so I'd never go back to windows. My bro's comp is great for regular comp stuff/gaming.

However, it's a desktop. I prefer laptops.

Your last sentence is exactly why I feel a gaming pc would be a waste of money to me.
