The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Cancelled my pre-order for Watch Dogs.

I still like the game, but I don't see it as a must cop PS4 launch title anymore.

Gonna roll with just Madden 25 and NBA 2k14 on the PS4 for a while, maybe that will give me time to clear the huge backlog of PS3 games I have.

I know, I know. "Different strokes for different folks."

But I honestly find this to be a terrible idea man. You're forking over $400 to play the same games you own now with minimal improvements and updated graphics? Maybe it's just me, but sports games should be complementary to the rest of your games. Stuck on a level in Shadowfall? Call it a day on it, and hop into your 2k Association. But to make these literally your first foray into next generation gaming? Just seems like a waste considering the games Sony seems to have lined up.

every played with supernewbish?

That name doesn't ring a bell.

boooooooo you aint on socom 2 then lol

i stay on vigilence and fishhook.

SOCOM 1 and 2 I played lone wolf basically jumping from lobby to lobby. Socom 3 I played with the same group pretty much.

Desert Glory, Crossroads, Blood Lake, Sujo, Death Trap, among others. So many classic maps.

hated socom 3. the maps were ok. the quick snipe stuff was the only thing interesting about the game. then the p90 got rigged to the point where it wasnt fun to play with anymore.

--> Why Buying PS4 Over Xbox One: X360 received 12 Core Exclusive Compare to 56 on PS3 during 2010-2013: A pretty ... http://bit.ly/1bjmkM5

   I'm staying out of the Xbox thread because I don't want to troll their thread but those dudes in there are actually defending this list

Six of those games are Halo, Gears, Forza.

Fact of the matter is that Sony has supported their console more than Microsoft. Even with the OG Xbox MS relied on third party exclusives to booster their line-up, saw the same with the 360. Once they stopped getting that support their line up regressed to what we see above, with the Xbox getting less games over a 3 year period than Playstation got in 9 months. Not even going to talk about the quality of exclusives Sony releases compared to Ms.

If I can only get one console I'm not giving up all those PS exclusives just so I can have a prettier profile with Xbox Live then PSN.

:smh: You're soooooooooooo full of it. The list left out Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, and Fable 3 all because they have a PC version.

When you add 360/PC games and consider XBLA, you will realize that this is Sony Fanboy hyperbole.

And remember the being of this generation when Xbox had more games, oh that's right, you fanboys blocked that time period out of your minds because it doesn't fit with your talking points. :rolleyes

-You dudes in here are delusional. It is like you'll are in a circle with each person fapping off the dudes to his left. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE ,HATE :smokin

Outside of Madden, 2k, and Watch Dogs none of the PS4 launch titles interest me.

I don't like FPSs so I couldn't care less about Shadow Fall.

I buy 2k and Madden annually and since they're launch titles for the PS4 I figured I'll just pick them up for the PS4 one time and skip the PS3 version.

Like I mentioned before, I have a huge backlog of PS3 games, some of which I haven't played yet even though I've owned them for several years (like MGS 4.

I love sports games, and don't view them as a complementary part of my game library. If games like Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, or GoW were launch titles for the PS4 I'd pick them up along with my PS4 as well. Since they aren't I'm content with 2k and Madden for the time being.

Ok, let's add 25 core Xbox games including the ones you mentioned. Now let's subtract 15 PS3 games. Even with those extremes it's still 37 to 41 Playstation. If you want to add those games that are on PC then add Dc Universe and Diablo 3 to the PS3's list. If we're adding Arcade games then add the Game of the year PSN title Journey to that list. And NOTHING that's been released exclusively on Xbox even compares to Uncharted 2 :smile:smokin) or The Last of Us:smile:smokin) .

The start date of the list is completely logical. One it gives insight on what you can expect from Xbox / Playstation over their life course. Microsoft did the same exact crap with the original Xbox while Sony was closing out the PS2's life with Shadow Of the Colossus and God Of War 2. Same this gen. Sony released arguably the greatest game of this gen while Xbox only owners are still playing Call Of Duty and 2K.

It also points out that since Kinnect came out MS hasn't cared about the core gamers whatsoever. And excluding Halo, Gears, Forza all those Xbox games are garbage anyways. Only one on the list with a metacritic above 48 is Crackdown 2.

Since 2008 and MGS4 Sony has annihilated MS in exclusives, in quantity and especially quality.

The reason i won't go microsoft is because i feel like they're rushing this system... They also rushed the 360 which is why >50% of their consoles had RROD.  They havent even shown specs of the system yet because i feel like they're still trying to 1-up sony.  Also in terms of their policies, they just seem so unsure about this console, how can I trust in their console, if they dont.

They abandoned the original xbox, within like 2 years of the 360, how long til they stop support for the 360? You can already see lack of attention the 360 is getting and xbox one isnt even out yet.  I feel like they say they'll still support the 360 for "years to come", but they'll suffocate it, forcing you to upgrade to the next gen..

While I agree to a certain extent, your making it seem like their wont be a ton of third party games available for years to come. When those dwindle down, fine but I can see it being supported until around 2015-16, getting it to that 10 year mark.

Like I personally feel that I dont need to get any next gen console till at least holiday 2014 at the earliest. I mean, Im gonna be getting destiny, titanfall and elderscrolls online all on current gen. That'd last me for a while

So it was not an act, you're serious :x :smh:

-No on the Xbox is as good as UC2 and Last of Us. I hope you meant Xbox 360 only too. But say what you want about the sequels, Gears of War One is one of the greatest games of all time. Gears has done more to influence gaming than either of games.

-How the **** does the last 3 years of a generation all of a sudden give better insight than consider the entire generation? :smh:

-Lets keep it 100 on MS and core exclusives. Here are some stuff people never consider in MS lacking core exclusives during the end of the generation

-Crash of 2008. MS makes huge mandated job cuts throughout their entire company. They lose 1st party devs as a result
- In addition, they stops pursing 3rd party exclusives games.
-Bioware gets bought resulting in them losing Mass Effect. They funded fully and published the original game
-Alan Wake gets delayed over 2 years. Which results in no chance of a sequel
-Splinter Cell Conviction the same thing, 2 year delay
-Silicon Kinight basically commit fraud with the development of Too Human. Sequels cancelled as a result

Sony has no where close to annihilating MS. Look how much better XBLA as been to PSN this gen.

You guys parrot the "Only Gears, Halo, Forza" chant but look the other way when Sony does the same damn thing to Uncharted, Killzone and God of War. And ignore the One's superior games line up and act like Shadowfall and Second Son are new IPs.

You're entitled to your opinion man, but in my opinion you're wrong. And i think most hard-core gamers would agree with me, evidenced by the massive support for the PS4 across all avenues.

The PlayStation Network had a lot of good downloadable exclusive titles like Journey, Fat Princess, Dead Nation, Super Stardust HD, PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Shooter, PixelJunk Eden, Echochrome, Everyday Shooter, Flower, The Unfinished Swan, and Wipeout HD.

In defense of the PS3. When the 360 had already been out for a year and the PS3 just came out, that's when I noticed the "no games" argument. There were still titles like Resistance, MotorStorm, Gran Turismo HD Concept (Free), Tekken, and Virtua Fighter 5. But it took a year into the life cycle until they started releasing the higher rated games like Folklore, Ratchet & Clank, Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Warhawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Uncharted. (Not going to mention Heavenly Sword because I thought it was buns compared to every other action game. Or Lair. Haha.) Plus the multiplatform titles like Oblivion, The Orange Box, COD4: Modern Warfare, and Assassin's Creed.

I was definitely playing a lot of games on my PS3 when people who've never been near or had any intention of ever getting a PS3 said it didn't.

Sports games are the supposedly the 3rd most popular genre of all games so, it's not surprising for him to do that.
