The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Sucks bro. I really haven't had too much bad luck with my controllers outside of my launch controller and the ones my kid broke. Them joints ain't cheap either. I was able to trade them in at GS for about $35 which helped lessen the blow.

my daughter killed one with water.... literally a full cup was inside of it when she handed it to me :smh:

The August lineup is :smokin

Haven't played any of those games and very different from my current selection.

Are the official PS4 bluetooth headphones worth the $100? Debating about copping that and a cam for my PS4.
They're worth $50, $60 tops.

I used my bro's ps4 headset.

I prefer these.

They come with a mic and a good warranty.

Edit: Just saw they're $50 instead of $35-$40 for the new versions. Looks like amazon only has the used mic versions for $25.

New ones are still available on their official site for $40.

Exist Archive the other side of the sky is a new JRPG from Tri-Ace. It's supposed to release this year in JP for PS4/PSV. From what I read, it's similar to Valkyrie Profile. There's some screens on gaf. I can't post them from mobile right now but it looks good.

Might have to get this.

It's Polyphony, man. They take their sweet time, but it usually ends up being worth it.

With Forza biting at their heels (and some saying surpassed them), you would think they'd push the development cycle up, but it doesn't seem like the case.

2016 is a fairly safe bet.
With the way GT sells, Sony won't be giving them the hurry up.
Polyphony and Naughty Dog can do what they want but they usually deliver.

Sony Wants You to Pick Your Next PS4 PlayStation Plus Freebie

Vote to Play coming soon

View media item 1650915

Disappointed with this month's PlayStation Plus selection? It sounds like Sony will be giving you the choice to select your freebies moving forwards. A trailer on the 'What's New' section of the PlayStation 4 confirms that a new feature is on the way, allowing you to vote for which title you want to be given away for free. Judging by the clip, you'll have three titles to pick from each month, and the one that gets the most votes will be added to the Instant Game Collection.

The trailer notes that the two losers will still be available on the PlayStation Store and will secure discounts for PlayStation Plus members. It looks like the voting functionality will be built into the system's user interface, with bar charts allowing you to see the current winner in realtime. The three games demonstrated in the trailer are: Zombie Vikings, Armello, and Grow Home – the latter of which appears to be coming to the PS4 after a successful PC launch.

We expect Sony to reveal more about this in the coming days. Still, this sounds like absolutely huge news, and is going to give you a little more power to decide which games you get for free each month. What do you make of this forthcoming feature? Make a choice in the comments section below.

PS4 Prints Money as System Shipments Surpass 25 Million Units

View media item 1650922

How's the PlayStation 4 doing now that the dust has settled on the device's launch hype? The answer: outrageously good. Sony has released its financial report for the first quarter of its financial year which ended on 30th June, and the results are pretty darn staggering. Indeed, the console has shipped a bonkers 25.3 million units to date, putting it far ahead of its competitors. You may have read recently that the Nintendo Wii U just passed 10 million units, for example.

In fact, so well is the PS4 doing that it shipped three million units during the abovementioned quarter alone – which is over double that of the Xbox One and Xbox 360 combined during the same period. We suppose that it's not all that surprising given the Japanese giant's sublime sales in Europe, but there's definitely been a sentiment in some parts of the industry that Microsoft's closing the gap – well, that certainly ain't happening in the sales department.

And it looks like PlayStation's going to play a significant part in that moving forward. The company actually increased its PS4 sales forecast, advising investors that it expects to ship 16.5 million new-gen systems during the current financial year – up from 16 million. That means that the console could be pushing shipments in the region of just under 40 million units by 31st March next year, which is frankly mind-boggling for a console that will barely be two years old at the time.

Playstation HQ looking at Microsoft's team like

Well to be fair I'm sure that the profits per system aren't that high if anything. Where their cash flow is coming in are the licensing fees and what not. I just hope that they reinvest into the PSN network and other goodies to reward the gamers and not into some dumb venture.

Morpheus and PSN from the sounds of it.

Sony plans to raise $3.4 billion selling stock and convertible bonds to help pay for a fourfold increase in semiconductor spending as it also invests in video game network services and virtual reality gear.

Yeah I noticed that most companies that sell hardware like ps4 and iPhones for example make little on the hardware itself but still impressive just on the numbers side. Plus with that many PS4s floating around in people's homes the windfall of cash from game purchases and whatnot is a given.

+1 on the PSN improvements as well

Does anyone have the black playstation shirt with the Japanese letters on the front? I wore mine today and I'm curious as to what I received it for. It was so long ago I don't remember but I want to say beta testing PS Plus?
