The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

So the start up sound for the ps4 will be that sound we use to hear when a ps2 game starts?

Nice little sneaker head touches in that ad too. He's got a pair of AJ3 from 94, and it looks like the 01 release, then when they get to the ps3 he's got a pair of What the Dunks by his bed.

what would be even more funny is if the dude in the gif got older every time the dude turned on his playstation.

That was one of the best video game commercials I've ever seen. Sonys marketing has become leaps and bounds better than it was for the majority of last gen. Still remember hearing the PS1 boot up music the first time :smokin

Yea, lots of kicks in the vid. Thought I saw a pair of forces but they were bapes :smh:

Some of the youtube comments though

No Girlfriend in the end, just like real life

New girlfriend for every new Playstation console, time to dump my current girlfriend and find an African American friend.

Did you noticed when PS4 arrived the guy's girlfriend was gone.???..xDDD

WOOO!!! PS4 FTW!!!!

I don't understand the point of buying a $300-$500 game console just for it to collect dust.
maybe it would collect dust to you, but for people like me and others we would get use out of it.  It's also nice to preorder because you don't have to pay the full amount up front.

There's also a Q&A on the PS Blog.

As Killzone Shadow Fall gears up for PS4’s November 15th launch in North America, we caught up with Game Director Steven Ter Heide to get answers to your burning questions across single-player and multiplayer.

We reveal new details on co-op, dedicated servers, weapons, DualShock 4, and much more. Enjoy!

That's a great ad from Sony. The little things made that awesome. From the Jordans, to the Evisu, to the Bape (?) just blew me away.

2K14 , NFS Rivals , and Battlefield 4 are my launch games for PS4. Might try to flip that Battlefield 4 for Killzone when I receive my bundle from Amazon.

It's not going to collect dust for me. The comment was in response to the recent comments from the Xbox guys coming in this thread to tell us that their PS3's collect dust and that their PS4's will.

There's a lot of games on the horizon that I'm looking forward to. Including Knack. I'll be playing that day 1 with Killzone and possibly Battlefield, 2K, and/or LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. It's going to take some budget wizardry.

I don't think that ad is from Sony.

It's from the PlayStation Access YouTube channel which is owned by SCEE

Why would you think it isn't from Sony?

EDIT:

PS4 Advertising Campaign Is The Biggest In Sony's History

Alongside revealing their Since ’95 video, a nostalgic look at PlayStation’s history and heritage, Sony have teased that their PS4 advertising campaign will be massive, saying that it’s “the biggest in our history” to TSA.

So, expect big things from their PS4 advertising campaign, which they’ll be gearing up over the next month or so, until the US launch of November 15th and then continuing past that to the European launch on the 29th, with plenty of post-release advertising to follow.

They’re also teasing plans to get this Since ’95 video out to the masses over the next few weeks, so they’re clearly aiming at a wider audience than you and I; more than just the people reading articles and watching videos on gaming sites, anyway.

Hopefully that amounts to much more than pushing the “This is for the Players” slogan and #4thePlayers hashtag. But those are nice too.
