The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I'm fed up with this ps4 regretting purchasing and selling my ps3 so much right know, online always down, doesn't play anything off my external hd, and know the biggest issue I get home today trying to watch the new blu rays I purchased and every single one of them freeze after 2-3 mins of watching so fn pissed try to enjoy my night and sitting here googling and researching possible fixes but no solution only people having similar problems
PS3 is...

I don't need anything else.

That's what I thought as well I looked in my captures but I didn't see that part unless I'm looking in the wrong part
You went through the PS menu or share menu? Share is where you'll find the last 15mins where you can edit/save that bit.

Battlefield is dope. Only gripe are these battlepacks. I hate the reflex sight, but I love the coyote. Sucks that you need battlepacks to unlock it for most of the guns though :smh:

Quick Impressions.

  • Got my system mid afternoon and straight away I swapped the HDD with a 1TB SSHD. It was very easy to do. I have about 800+ GB's left after installing Need for speed, Warframe and all the PS+ games so I should be alright for a long time.I can't say how much faster it is since I didn't boot up the PS4 with the stock hard drive but it's fast.

  • The DS4 is pure butter, it just melts in your hands. The grips are nice and the triggers are not too short as I heard some people say. Had no problems with it in NFS. I love the gyro typing as well. It's now my default way of typing

  • OS is fast and easy to navigate. I prefer it to the XMB but it seriously needs themes or options to customise. I like the blue but after turning on my PS3 with it's Puppeteer theme, I don't want to go back to just blue.

  • You can't sort trophies either which is annoying but the rarity feature is great. and I can't see the add ons I've redeemed. I know they're there since it tells you but you can't individually see which ones. I'm guessing it's because it's a pre-order bonus which isn't in the store.
  • I also got my first PS4 plat yesterday by syncing my Sound Shapes save file from the cloud. :pimp:

  • Remote Play, Live from PlayStation and the share button are the "next gen" features though. Remote play worked flawlessly for me. I made sure it worked in the bathroom because that's where it'll get the most play. No lag and no problems with the audio. I also watched some streams from live through remote play and that was impressive. I thought there will be issues doing that but it was very clear. All I need to do now is take it to work and try it from there. Share worked well for me but I don't have facebook though and it doesn't record the trophy notification but that's minor.
  • Web browser is fast as well. No flash but I was able to watch videos on daily motion so I'm guessing it can watch HTML5 clips or something. Much easier to use and there's now copy and paste :pimp:. I hate that you have to sign in though to use it.

  • All in all, very happy with the system and I think it's a solid step up from the PS3. Still lots of work to be done and kinks to be ironed out but I think they have a solid base, especially if they still have resources in reserve as rumored.

Also someone was asking how they can check when there PS+ expires. Best way to check is to look at the information of a PS+ game using the options button and it gives you a date of when it's no longer playable which is when your PS+ expires.

Anyone got recommendations for Vita games other than freebies on PS+?

not too familiar with Vita catalog

Uncharted
Gravity Rush
Rayman Origin + Legends
Litttle Big Planet
Wipeout 2048
Guacamelee
Virtua Tennis 4
Sound Shapes
Motorstorm RC

I'll recommend these since I've played them.

I haven't played these but heard they were good

Killzone Merecenary
Tearaway
Soul Sacrifice
Persona 4 Golden
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath

Hori Screen Protector

Case

You can get any zip case but I'll recommend this suede one on top. It's handy if you want to slip it in your back pocket which the other cases are too big for.

If you have money to burn though you can import this leather one

The temptation... !

Reupped thanks. Anyone know how to reload on Miami Hotline for the Vita? Never mind there's no reloading.

Lets see...

1. Online always down - Not sure if serious, maybe your connection is bad? It was down yesterday for an hour, and before that PSN was a bit slow because of the load of new Euro users, other than that, it has never been 'always' down.

2. Doesn't play anything off my external hd - PS4 does NOT support external HD. Research bro.

3. The new blu rays I purchased and every single of them freeze after 2 -3 mins of watching - Have you tried other blu - rays? If you have and still seeing freezing, I would contact Sony to get a replacement system, or stop by your nearest Sony store and see if they can swap one for you (if they have any in stock).

Or you can go to settings> psn > account information > service list
