Is it just me or is the new MGS not as hyped as any of the other ones have been?

don't hold your breathe for mgs...its basically a single mission from phantom pain and is all of 2 hrs to which almost half of the 2hrs is cutscenes movies etc... is it good sure...especially compared to that hot steaming pile that was revengeance...but short nontheless

it was meh to me and was nothing like the series...didn't even have snake.... and its reviews imho were biased based on the type/style game it was... like ive said before it was like some generic no more heroes steez... like iuno they said lets make a devil may cry type of game... and action adventure soul caliber type game... through in some Japanimation type vibe since ppl tend to love that regardless of the content or quality of game and ppl will flock and buy it...

I mean really its wasn't horrid in terms of just comparing it to games in general but when you stack it up against other games in its series its kinda weak sauce..

Everyone knew before hand that the game was gonna be based off Raiden. So I dont see how it not having snake plays a role in the game being good or not.

I'd say that people are definitely looking forward to it, but at the end of the day it's just a **** tease. Hard to get really hyped for a $30 extended demo.

my thing is if your going to go a diff direction make it a great game...iuno it just seemed like an action adventure soul caliber with nothing that really made it stand out to other slash and hack games like a devil may cry, a no more heroes etc... iuno it was meh... and just overhyped and not really matching the high ratings it received...

I mean it got a higher rating the batman arkham... slightly more then and in some cases the same as the last of us... was rated onto par with uncharted...

I mean again its just my opinion but revengeance isn't on the same level/better imho then arguable some of the best games on ps3

again because its only a single stage mission, an exert from the msg v ...full game that will be released next spring... My thing is its crazy to charge money especially $30 to play a demo...

I cant even think the last time a demo, a short demo at that...to be charging in excess of a few dollars... KONAMI got down with this one.

Ground Zeroes to Phantom pain is what Gran Turismo 5 : Prologue was to Gran Turismo 5 i.e. you're only getting a taste before the main game arrives.

I mean its taking back to the old school I don't wanna add any spoilers but its a pretty good for what it is... and if its an indication of whats to come then phantom pain the new version will be pretty damn good especially on next gen

dark souls II is the ish.... im just saying... just when I thought nothing was to come soon. (outside of second son) .... especially after that interactive made for tv movie type game that is south park.... dark soul will hold the fort down for a second

I cant blame you and as other might have said I wouldn't be surprised if others follow suite with doing the same trend.... ala do a grand theft auto and sell a single mission/level for like 20-30 bucks then 6-9 months later or so hit you with the full game at like 60.. its almost like a dlc addition to a game before the game plus you can charge and make a profit from it...

I have no doubt that a game like a new red dead redemption a new uncharted etc.... released a single stage/mission aka about an hr or so of game play for like 20-30 bucks a few months or a yr early ppl would flock all over it...

That might even would have been a smart move for watch dogs

supposedly spring/summer 2015... that's what im saying I could see other gaming companies doing this with big game releases... I have no doubt that if rockstar did this with all the hype that was behind gta V. ppl would have paid 20-30 bucks to play a few side missions or a specific few objectives... they would've made money hand over fist...

It would surprise me if it was even released next year. Kojima himself said Phantom Pain is a ways off a few weeks ago. Which I'm ok with, especially if it doesn't come out for the PS3/360. Waited two years for MGS4.
