The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

There are like 5 of us that are active in this thread that would have been around back then, so feel free to start naming names.

Of those 5, I am really the only one that actively tries to get trophies... so Im going to assume you're talking about me. I implore you to find any post of where I said any of that.

I think it's funny how "certain people" have selective memories.

People throwing around the term fanboy pretty liberally; in both threads...

I was back then under a different SN before PS3 dropped. I am not talking about you.

Boost is who I remember most. Not that he is super into trophy hunting now. More of just shooting down the idea of a feature from XBOX (or similar) that PS desperately needed. I remember him specifically

He has done a great job with this thread and I appreciate it, but he was one of them. There were plenty though
What features are you speaking of?

The only feature I past judgement on was party chat, and even then that was a collective understanding through most of PS3 Thread vets. We all played the same game (COD4 and MW2) so we all were in the lobby chatting. I never went hard about achievements for the PS3 or a similar feature (now called Trophies). I've never been a trophy hunter, I don't even know how many I have nor do I care.
Boost rides for Sony and Android, I dont think anyone would dispute that,
Haha.

I don't understand why people hate on me for having a personal preference. I don't preach or convert others, and I stay in those specific threads I prefer. I've never made a post in the 360 thread(s), EVER. I never made a post in the XBONE thread either. I have no reason too, nothing grabs my attention in the Xbox camp.

If I'm gaming right now, I choose Sony, I've owned every Sony console, I know it's ends and outs, I've played all the franchise games, bought many others, downloaded and burned games too, imported JDM exclusives and bought OST from sites like www.ncsx.com. At the end of the day I'm a hardcore gamer, and have owned pretty much every console, including a Xbox and 360. Sony is my favorite gaming company, but Dreamcast is my favorite console of all time.

If it's mobile device I run with Android, it's an open platform, and it works best for me, and it pays my bills (developer). I love Apple, and ill probably get an iPhone 6 if the confirmed rumors are a bigger screen.

Mostly trophys. I remember you and your minions saying that the idea of achievements is stupid. Everyone jumped on me

Late. I'm coming for that trophy title too lol. I have 17 plats now...smh going for 30-40 before years end.

Lol naw. Honestly it adds replay value for me. I'll more than likely play a game multiple times and attempt to get the platinum or do the extra stuff but usually ill only do this with games I really like. Trying to platinum a trash game or a game with "tacked" on MP can be painful lol.

Been busy all week but finally got around and beat Tomb Raider. Great game for PS+, good game overall.

That last boss was kinda disappointing though....

You guys getting paid!?

Naw we're fan boys, remember?

When we arent on forums defending our precious, we are devoting all other waking hours to finding every last collectible.

Seriously, though, I think it comes from playing RPG's as a kid becoming a completionist... wanting to find and experience everything in the game. If I get a platinum trophy in a game, it kind of lets me know I have experienced everything that game has to offer and I can move on. If trophies are done right, they can help you find ways to play that you may never have thought to try otherwise.

I love being outside, but your hobbies dwindle in the Canadian winter.

info on PlanetSide 2?
I've never heard of it.

I haven't played too many rpgs.
The only one that I really liked was sword of mana(gba) and that rpg mario/luigi game on the gba.
Sword of Mana was :smokin But yeah Planet side 2 is a fps faction type game. Where each faction fights to gain control of a piece of territory.

Ni No Kuni is a good start.

Pokemon (no joke)

Final Fantasy, start with X.

All are really good starter games. Simple to start, get mildly more complex as you go.

Stay away from anything named Disgaea.

You have access to a PS2 you said... Id suggest Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, Wild ARMS. All Three are fairly simple in theory.

Chrono Trigger is one of the very best and it starts simply enough. It gets pretty deep though.

I liked pokemon back in the day,

but I wouldn't play it now.

Since I hated grinding.
