The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I've missed you guys - not a lot going on in the gaming world that has my attention, however..

Loved SP Stick of Truth, and am currently playing GT 6 but that's it!

What's up Dennis!

You ended up staying in BC instead of moving to Calgary, hey?

Hey, Chris!

Yeah, a great opportunity to work in HR at my university presented itself before I'd even finished school so I took that. Told Pepsi I wouldn't be looking for work and haven't looked back. Did 18 months in HR and last September took a Student Recruitment Officer position. My recruitment region is Lower Mainland BC, the Okanagan, the Kootenays, and Alberta. Sick regions, IMO (I know you dig Van and the Okanagan).

I visit Alberta occasionally - was supposed to hit up Med Hat last Jan as part of a weeklong trip but only went as far south as Calgary. I'll be over your way before too long, we'll grab beers - if your girl lets you go out  You are still in Medicine Hat, yeah? How's work? Coaching?

I've been racing your ghosts in GT6. Sometimes I'm faster, sometimes I'm not.

i'm still on second son.. i played like 2 hours of it all together

Nice! Yea, I bought a townhouse here. Coaching is good, but I took on a little too much with both the college assistant coaching and helping run a U18 mens club team. Basically coaching from August-May in what is essentially volunteering. Luckily working from home I can work around the busier days.

Anytime you're going to be in town let me know. Not exactly a bustling metropolis, but definitely a couple good watering holes.

GT6 is frustrating in that SinnerP's ghost makes me depressed at how bad I am at the game, while I have been waiting to see this damn Nike and Jordan designed prototypes for the last 6 months. :smh:

Thanks anyway.

Thought about trying it, but I have already beaten all the of GOW games so I'll save the HD space.

Forreal, if I'm not chasing you, it's SinnerP. Is that the plan for those different concept drawings/teasers? That eventually a car will be released? Like that Mercedes?

As far as I know, yea, each was supposed to have been a company who designed a vehicle for the game. Unless something changed over the last few months.

Yea it was only on the web store, but they already pulled the plug on it.

Damn :smh:

Repped for the info anyway.

If you have a vita try it on that, if not try the webstore. Some users are saying its working again.

The Glitch still works apparently...some people are able to download the game to their Vita's now. If anyone got the PS+ Trails before and it didn't work, give the Vita PSN Store or Web PSN Store another look, you may be able to get the game for free

The Cover Athlete for NBA 2K15 is...
League scoring champion, MVP to be the face of the next NBA 2K game.
by Ryan McCaffrey MAY 6, 2014

Newly crowned NBA league Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant has been named the cover athlete for the next iteration of the NBA 2K sim basketball series.

“It’s something that I’ve been longing for for a while," Durant said on the conference call announcing his cover apperance, "and I’m just grateful for the opportunity.”

Durant was just named the NBA MVP after finishing as the runner-up in the voting for the past three seasons to last year's NBA 2K cover man, LeBron James. He has also won an Olympic gold medal and appeared in one NBA Finals so far in his career. He also claims to play a lot of the NBA 2K series.

“I begged them to put me on the cover," Durant said when asked what 2K had to do to get him to agree to be on the cover. "I really think nobody plays the game as much as I do. I wanted to be a part of it.”

Asked what he enjoys most about the series, Durant said, “I enjoy playing the myPlayer mode. Taking your guy through a season, getting drafted…I feel that’s how it is as a real NBA player. It’s about the journey.”

And does he play as himself and his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates? “I never play with our team for some reason," he answered with a laugh. "In my house you have to pick a random team and just play. That’s how we see how good you are.”

I'm in the minority, but I hated Rivals and loved Most Wanted.

Need for Speed 2015 Will Be ‘Dramatically Different’
Fan feedback will help Ghost Games “define what the experience is.”
by Mitch Dyer MAY 6, 2014

Need for Speed Rivals developer Ghost Games says it needs to do “a much better job” with the fans of Need for Speed going forward.

The studio aims to accomplish something “dramatically different” for the series, and to that end, Electronic Arts and Ghost Games will have “more open conversations” with fans ahead of the next Need for Speed game’s release in 2015.

Nilsson says, “We need to help define for [fans] what the Need for Speed experience is,and they can help us define what that experience is. Then we can stay true to what that experience is.”

Nilsson is already spending time on the phone with hardcore fans about the future of EA’s games. This is part of “a big movement inside EA, within every brand, really,” to engage fans in a transparent dialogue about development. “That definitely is part of the reason we’re going to do things quite dramatically different to the Need for Speed brand.”

Electronic Arts Revealing 6 New Projects at E3 2014
It's likely we'll see some big name games on the EA stage.
by Brandin Tyrrel MAY 6, 2014

Electronic Arts will be revealing six new projects at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.

During EA's quarterly earnings call today, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson noted that of the six new projects to be unveiled, one will be powered by the Frostbite engine and is slated for a Q3 release.

While anything is on the table, a next-gen game running on Frostbite and slated for the holiday season could be indicative of a new Battlefield. Rumors have been swirling for some time that EA-owned Visceral Games has been working on a new entry in the Battlefield franchise themed around police forces.

While rumors are just that, we do know that Visceral Games is already hard at work on a Star Wars project involving Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig following her departure from Naughty Dog.

Wilson also made brief mention the company would be showing a next-gen PGA game, alongside The Sims 4, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The annual Electronic Entertainment Expo runs June 10-12.

Hope this means they'll just go back to their mid 2000's Need For Speed formula. I would love for them to make a Underground or OG Most Wanted / Carbon type game. Those were great. I miss being able to customize my car and free roam the city , and the stories, while extremely corny, were fun
