The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

2 hours until the SCEJ announcement. Assuming Hybrid was joking, any word on what it may be?

I want it to be Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, or The Last Guardian PS4. It would be nuts if it were even like a new Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy too. There's a lot of stuff that would be exciting.

I'm just ready for a JRPG and 3D platformer renaissance like the PS1 and PS2 days.

Nothing announced yet. Just some awkward stream with a guy playing Counter Strike right now. I have no idea what's going on. They're probably going to make us wait for it. I'm starting to lose all hope that we're actually getting a new significant game reveal.

Final Fantasy XV Demo Details and New Gameplay Footage

When Final Fantasy Type-0 HD goes on sale next year, it will include a demo voucher code for Final Fantasy XV. Today at the Tokyo Game Show, director Hajime Tabata explained what players can expect.

The demo's title is Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae with "Duscae" referring to an area within the world.

Online in Japan, some have wondered whether or not the demo's title was a pun. The reason is that "Duscae" in Japanese is pronounced as "desuka," which sounds like the Japanese phrase for "Is it?" Thus, to Japanese ears, the demo's title sounds like, "Final Fantasy XV: Is It an Episode?" However, Tabata said the demo's title is not a clever pun. "I'm too old for that kind of thing," Tabata told the TGS crowd during his presentation.

The demo looks to be about an hour if you use the car and don't explore. You can either drive the car yourself or have the another party member drive in an auto-pilot mode as you chill out in the backseat. But, the demo might not be driving (or walking) only. "If things progress well, we'll put in a chocobo. If we don't have time, we won't."

However, if you go on foot and explore the surroundings, you could get between three to four hours of play. According to Tabata, there will be monsters and "maybe a dungeon." There won't be a boss battle, but Tabata said there would be "something more amazing." According to him, "This is something that Final Fantasy fans will really like." Wonder what that will be...

Today, Square Enix showed off the first live gameplay footage of the eagerly awaited Final Fantasy XV. There's also a look at the fancy tech that powers the game and a cute frog in the rain.

FFXV director Hajime Tabata said he wanted to show off live gameplay, because some people online seemed to think that the recently released Final Fantasy XV trailer was all pre-rendered. As you can see in this NicoNico stream, it wasn't.

During the stage presentation, Tabata said that next year's demo will look even better than the footage shown today.

The video isn't the best as it was taken from the FF Type-0 Live stream so hopefully we'll get an HD version later but My God is this game looking good.
Dynamic Weather with Day and Night Cycles :pimp:
Character animation and particle effects :pimp:
Combination Attacks :pimp:
Warp can be used on buildings and on enemies :pimp:
It also looks faster than in the trailer.

They also said the graphics will be improved, currently 70-80% done and that Luminous engine is still alive.
Also, from from now on, there will be regular updates instead of leaving us in the dark.

Edit: Better round up from Siliconera.

The above footage clip demonstrates some of the graphics features for Final Fantasy XV, starting with a look at a little frog in rain. Certain parts with elevation difference will get puddles when it rains, and places under roofs will stay dry. Once the rain stops, things will gradually start to dry up as well. This also includes the characters’ clothing and their hair.

At around 1:50 in the video, the footage shows the place where Noctis and his buddies fought the Behemoth in the trailer from last year. For demonstration purposes, Square Enix’s demonstrators sped up the time to show what it looks like, but in the game, you’ll have a natural passing of time—morning, day, and night.

Square Enix also mentioned that the footage they’ve shown is what they’d consider to be at around 70 to 80% of what they’re going for. The demo is expected to be of a higher quality.

Next, they demonstrate some more battle action at around 3:38, where the Behemoth makes an appearance, with a side of Goblins. While they don’t go into much detail, you can see Noctis dodging enemies. This is part of the new system that lets you continuously dodge while holding down the block button. You can also auto-attack by simply holding down the attack button. T

The combat is more on the action side according to Square Enix, but it’s simplified, so you can pull off a bunch of different moves with relative ease.

Square also mentioned that the E3 trailer we saw from last year was created using a temporary development environment (likely meaning it was running on PC), where the intent was simply to show off the kind of game they wanted to make. Now that they’re working within their actual development environment, motions and other aspects of the game aren’t at their 100% complete stage, but they expect things to get much better over time.

As you may have noticed during the fight against Behemoth, Noctis pulls off cooperative moves with the others. This is also part of a combat feature that will be easy to pull off as long as you have allies nearby.

Square Enix will announce much more for Final Fantasy XV during their Square Enix Presents show, and they also plan to reveal a bunch of information during Jump Festa later this year.

USFIV Version 1.04 Patch & Omega Mode Announcement
Sep20

In our continuing desire to ensure that USFIV is a game by the fans for the fans, we will be releasing the version 1.04 patch in October. This patch will address some issues that were pointed out by the community, add the delayed wake up option to the dummy in training mode and for our PC users, more improvements to the online experience.

We’re not stopping there however! In our ongoing effort to make sure that Ultra SFIV is the greatest version of SFIV yet, we bring you a completely new, completely free and most importantly completely fun version of your favorite 44 characters in Omega Mode!

For those wondering, Omega mode is a completely new mode in which every character has been modified and outfitted with new normal and special attacks, resulting in a refreshing take on the characters you’ve come to know and love over the last six years. As the primary goal for this mode was fun, we placed more emphasis on making the characters feel new, than on their balance. This means that strong, fan favorite attacks such as Ken’s Shinppu Jinrai Kyaku and Sagat’s Tiger Raid make their return while other characters such as Zangief gain new abilities, like being able to combo into his command throws.

Words however, don’t do this mode justice, so we’ve decided to show a quick video of the madness you can expect to see with in Omega Mode.

Now I know the next question that comes to mind is, “will this be playable online?” My answer to that is “it most definitely will be!”  But as this mode is for fun, Omega mode will be restricted to unranked matches only. Additionally all official Capcom tournaments and Capcom Pro Tour affiliate tournaments will use the default Ultra balance, not Omega mode, as the tournament standard.

Omega Mode is going to be mad.
Game needs to be ported to current gen consoles already.

Did they announce the game that was going to make everyone go out and buy a PS4 this holiday?
