Just talked to one of the Sony reps via Live Chat. I'm going to pick up another controller on Tuesday and then ship my 2 off to get the thumbsticks replaced. It sucks that you have to pay for shipping but whatever

It was announced today that Tales of Hearts R will be cross-play compatible with the PS TV. This was just confirmed right before the Bandai Namco panel at NYCC this year.

Cross-play compatibility is a North America-only feature, as the Japanese version came out before the PS TV came out in Japan.

Welp going to trade in the Vita probably tomorrow, GS giving me $160 for it. I can take a $40 loss since. PS TV in a few more days
Near Seamless Battle Transitions, Open World and More Coming to Tales of Zestiria
by Allisa James (1 hour ago) 1 @ajames347

NYCC 2014NewsPS3NYCC 2014NewsPS3

In an earlier panel with Bandai Namco at NYCC this year, Series Director, International Production Manager and the Bandai America Brand Manager revealed some juicy new info on the upcoming Tales of Zestiria, which will release in Japan on January 22nd of next year.

We find out that the overarching theme for this game is “Zest = Passion,” and it will play an important role in the plot. The setting will return to the series’ classical roots in a traditional medieval and fantasy world. The environments are very blue, green and sweeping, with different lighting and effects for night and day.

The two protagonists are Sorey and Mikleo, childhood friends. However, their friendship is very different from a normal friendship and that aspect will be delved into during the plot.

Since this is a 20th anniversary title, all four series character designers have contributed to the character designs in this title. It was difficult to combine these designs into one setting since each artist has their own unique style and proportions.

Moving on to gameplay, interruptions between the field, battle and event cutscenes have been minimized. This means that for the first time in the franchise, there is near seamless transitions between movement and battles. Additionally, the battlefield size and makeup changes depending on where the enemy is engaged, so strategic planning is necessary.

Most likely my last PS3 purchase aside from games that get added to the backlog
