Daft Punk officially on Columbia

y'all just put me on, Take Care of You :smokin

anyway can't wait to get my copy of this CD in the mail.

if you dig Cherokee; check out LeBRON, Max Beckmann, & Mister Gavin on Soundcloud. some more dope nu-disco/funk DJs (I'm sure you already heard of Breakbot & Kavinsky, but if not; peep them too--stellar artists)

contrary to popular belief, ALOT of DJs in Europe (specifically France) are still on that nu-disco wave that Daft Punk helped start in 2001 when "Discovery" came out

** make sure you guys hit up Best Buy's FB page tonight/tomorrow if you plan on buying 'R.A.M.' from them; they're gonna post a coupon that lets you get it for $7.99 8)

That Outrun album is my personal favorite of 2013

excellent choice sir. pick up Breakbot's US release of "By Your Side (2013). it's every bit as good as "Outrun". Ruckazoid & Irfane give instant Prince/MJ vibes on the tracks they sing on :smokin

A lot of the complaints I'm personally hearing about Touch is that people don't like Paul Williams voice. I love the song and the big disco number in the middle totally reminds me of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band- I'll Play The Fool For You

Copped the album today. Played the hell out of it this last week and without a doubt "give life back to music" is the best song on the album imo. Beyond, within, fragments of time are also personal favorites but this album does not have a single bad song. 9.5/10

Anybody else get a "bohemian rhapsody" feel on touch?

Here's the full version of 'Horizon', the Japanese bonus track. i ripped it, but its only 192k :/

also, So happy to have this in my hands.

First time listening today... SOOOO GOOOD

Glad to hear funk and electronic music blend so nice that it touches the soul. Thank god they didn't make it so housey... Funk is in need of saving and daft punk has brought it back to life.

10/10 IMO

"fragments of time" & "beyond"

"doin it right" is bananas tho... my favorite song right now

I haven't gotten my vinyl delivered from Amazon yet, but my cd from myplaydirect came in earlier. From what I'm hearing they did 2 masterings for this thing, and the vinyl has way more dynamic range, while the cd and all the digital copies so far have been brickwalled.

Saw that MiLiTARYiVxV2 posted the bonus track, but I think this might be better quality that I found floating around.

Really Pink Flyod-ish IMO. I'm a fan :pimp: .

imo it sounds like they made an album that they would have sampled from on their previous albums, this **** is dope. even if its not what you were expecting, if you love music you will love this album.

so far my favorites have been giorgio by moroder, touch and doin' it right. im sure tomorrow it'll be 3 other songs.

im not an audiophile, but from what ive read lots of music on cds these days have been treated with dynamic compression in order to make the overall volume louder.

same deal here?

b/c physically cds should have more dynamic range than vinyl right?

your thoughts on this?

CDs should have a wider dynamic range, but as it's been pointed out they've been compressing the hell out of things since the early 2000s. I hate when I see a "remastered" version of an album I loved come out and it ends up just being loud as hell with clipping going on all over the place. It's cool that they spent the extra money to make the vinyl of this album so well, if you've got the latest pressing of Discovery you'll see when the label just slaps things together, it's got all kinds of distortion that cd and vinyl didn't have back in 2001.

As far as that NPR story, I agree for the most part, in a blind listen for the most part it's hard to tell between a decent AAC, mp3, FLAC, cd or vinyl playback. I want the vinyl to sound better so therefore I'm going to say it does (especially when I have to justify spending more money for the habit)

FULL DISCLOSURE: outside of a rip that a friend made of the vinyl using gear from his work, I'm probably not even going to get a chance to play my vinyl since I haven't had turntables in the house in years. I picked up the set for the artwork, and because I'm a pretty big Daft Punk fan. I plan on doing the same thing for the Boards of Canada LP next month, although I don't expect there to be any difference between their vinyl and cd or the mp3s because of their recording methods.
