Spots to go in Baltimore and Philly...

If you're going to get a cheesesteak go to to Jim's or Phil's on Passyunk Ave. They're my favs.

Also if you go to Phil's check out Nick's Roast Beef which is a few blocks away.

Can't go wrong at either spot.

Dunno what you're into but Philly has a bunch of really cool museums.

Also, I ate at the Rusty Scupper in Baltimore last year while I was there. Its right in the center of the harbor I believe.

Food was EXCELLENT. Cream of crab soup was phenomenal. So were the crab cakes.

You can go to Pats and Ginos to say you've gone. Warning, they aren't that good. Just hype.

I can make 6 delicious steak and cheeses for the price of one of theirs at home. :smh:

Can't believe I actually drove into the city for them. PS: I liked Pats better. I don't like that cheese wiz stuff from Ginos. Also, the bread at Ginos was hard.

no you cant.

Unless you got Philly rolls, don't even attempt. The ROLL makes the sandwich.

and its a cheese steak, not a steak and cheese. NO ONE calls it a steak and cheese. lol.

and its Geno's.

When you're in Baltimore, make sure you hit up Ms. Shirley's first in foremost...

Go to Blue Moon Cafe as well for the Capt. Crunch French Toast...

The best BBQ spot to hit is probably Chaps Pit Beef on Pulaski Hwy...

Oh, and go to Attman's if you like corned beef sandwiches or any other hot sandwiches...

Wander around the Inner Harbor and the Harbor East if you have to kill time...

Some of the food trucks are great too if you can find any...

I cosign the Shareef's recommendation...

 @ the Hip Hop Chicken suggstion tho...

I say it time after time, I've had Jim's, Pat's, and Geno's, and the best cheesesteak I've had by far is at Ishkabible which is a hole in the wall on south street across from Jim's.

Go to Brewer's Art in Bmore, get an Ozzy and a Resurrection, thank me later. The science museum in the harbor is pretty cool too. Depending on when you go it may be warm enough to ride a paddle boat which is fun

Best crabs? Jimmys seafood in dundalk. Best BBQ? Andy Nelsons in hunt valley. Best pitbeef sandwich? Chaps, its in the parking lot of the gold club...

thanks bro

for any of the baltimore heads

have any of you tried JD's smokehouse bar & grill?

My wife and I just got back yesterday from our long road trip which took us from Chicago to Dayton OH, Richmond VA, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Philly over the past nine days. We had a ball and I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to this thread, which definitely helped make our trip all the better. Thank again, y'all...

Peace.

In Baltimore, we stayed right next to the inner harbor. We are at Phillip's, a seafood spot in the inner harbor, and we ordered their seafood dinner platter (or something like that) which included jumbo shrimp, crab legs, lobster, clams and mussels, corn on the cob, potatoes, etc. The spot was very nice and the food was incredible. The whole inner harbor area is extremely nice. My wife and I were very impressed.

Our waiter suggested going out to Fell's Point or Canton in the evening and we went to Canton where we found a bar with $2 domestics and $3.50 Grand Marnier's. Needless to say, that was our one and only stop for the night . I can't remember what it was called but it was an Irish bar. I will try to find the name of the spot. The next morning we had brunch at Ms. Shirley's. The food was pretty good although a little overpriced for what you get in my eyes. I had a Huevos Cubano sandwich and my wife had French toast (which was delicious).

In Philly, we had cheese steaks at Phillip's on Passyunk which were excellent. The meat was tender and well-seasoned and the bread was fresh and not soggy at all. The hot peppers were also bangin', although by the end of the sandwich I had to pick some off because it was just too hot.

We had brunch the next day at a Cajun spot in the Reading Terminal Market. My po' boy was not very good but the fried mac n cheese was on point. The Market is a nice spot though, for sure. We also went to Federal Donuts and ordered two donuts and the chick working the register gave us four free donuts! So we got six for the price of two. The donuts were very good as well, although they were sold out of fried chicken by the time we got there in the early afternoon.

We also went to Standard Tap which was a pretty cool bar with a ton of local beers on tap. The couple of beers that we tried were very good and they were playing 90s hip-hop (album cuts) on the second level which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Our last night in Philly, we went to a sushi spot (at my wife's request ) called Vic's. The food was surprisingly good for someone who doesn't really eat sushi (me) and it was also pretty cheap as well.

Overall, I would strongly recommend all the spots we went to with the exception of Ms. Shirley's, which I would only moderately recommend due to their prices...
