PARTYNEXTDOOR ~ OMO Thread Official

Even with all the foul language, the track is a bit too cheery for him. The island little drums ruin it for me. I'm checking for this guy though, he definitely has a nice sound and flow. Like his vibe.

It's actually an old song that just never ended up on that Jahron B collection I guess.

was wondering if there was a thread on this dude.

been listening to him for a couple months back and still bring the mixtape back into rotation.

seen his performances on wylat, and thought he was still getting his performance legs under him.

sorry Drake let the weeknd live fam dont try to duplicate homie with a knockoff. swagger jacker

Not everyone is trying to copy the Weeknd. If you truly listen to the Weeknd and understand what his lane is you would never make the statement that Party is trying to copy him.

the song on worldstar that he has sounds like the weeknd to me thats my opinion

Uh i would say him and the weeknd are similar more so than other rnb artists (i.e if we want to look at rnb as a whole john legend, chris brown, the-dream etc...). They both have that teen to early 30s lane. They talk about drug use, have very limited vocal abilities. Song writing wise they are different and the type of production they chose is different but they give off the same vibe.

Just because Party sings about drugs doesn't mean he's trying to copy the Weeknd. They may sing about similar things but that doesn't mean anything, especially that anyone's copying someone else.

Also, you saying the Weeknd has limited vocal abilities isn't really fact, more of your opinion. The vibe they give off also is much different, but I guess that's opinion as well. The Weeknd is much darker and gives off almost a sinister vibe, which is fact. I don't think you can say that about Party.

The comparison is STRICTLY because of their hometowns and affiliations to Drake.

Their music have two totally different aesthetics.

PND's music as a whole is much more upbeat.

This is the same as when make sports comparisons...they usually base them on looks

Like during the late 90s and early 2000s...every tall dark skinned player coming into the league automatically got compared to KG.

and what dudes are trying to tell you and the other cat are it's still very different. the weeknd is dark. his music is dark.

from the first song on House of Balloons it sounds like he's in an dark condo and it's raining and some white girl

with daddy issues is crying on the floor at 3am snorting coke off the weeknd's back. PND sounds nothing like that.

it's not dark at all. there don't seem to be any miserable undertones. it's just different.

i agree yall over doing it with the weeknd stuff . granted he has a larger body of work to judge on , but iono what happened after thursday . and abel sounds horrible live . he has incredible records but he aint the illest b like wtf

i hated i dont at first but its grown on me . what is pnd doing tho . like i know he on tour with drake but i see next to nothing from him . he gonna have to start putting himself out there virally if he wanna compete . . .
