Just copped the pack from a local shop.... Paid over retail but don't have to deal with the headache next week

they usually wait until a couple days before release before they announce it's TLO.  i bet they just flip a coin two days before and that's how it's decided whether or not it's TLO
 
i aint even gonna front like i had a chance with these...im just gonna go for those black 5lab3 dropping the same day...good luck for those that's gunnin for the pacc tho
 
Retail really 500 :x how much is the retail on a single pair of lil penny posites 250? I cant see why they are selling this pack for 500$

Because they can!

Nike uses these things as trial balloons to see just how much they have dudes by the balls.

They know damn well that the Penny posites wouldn't come close to selling out at even $200, so that implicitly means that when these smoke, they'll know that it would be no problem to ask for $300 for a well executed Foam with a bit of hype behind it. ...Hell, they know that a number of people are essentially paying $500 for one pair of shoes and don't even want the other one.

They're pushing something people don't want on the market - generating a sell out on something they couldn't move otherwise, and at the same time, they are getting permission from the public to further price gouge them in the future. ...All the while dudes are lining up in the street, buying bots, fighting one another, and bragging about having the opportunity to be taken advantage of.

This isn't even hating; this is just the ugly truth.
 
It's good strategy on Nike's end tho. Just gotta pass on this release but it would be cool if these came out in July for a 4th of July release too
 
500 dollars saved. It hurts to cause I'm a magic fan and those shooting stars are the closet thing we are going to get a P.E. Is what it is

true, i remember the jordans back when the cdp were releasing were only 135-140. and they charged $300 for the package. they are always testing to raise the prices. and it always works
 
all I kno is if anybody decides to pick up the pack in a size 10 please let me know cuz if u dnt want your penny posites I'll be glad to take em off your hands

310 for the packs, IIRC.

And, remember, when the packs dropped, some of the models hadn't been retro-ed for a few years and were priced even less than 140 from their last release. AJ1s were 100; 3s were 125, etc. That was another reason they did the two models that equal 23 thing, because people were used to the AJ1 being like 100, so to get 310 for a pack with that shoe in it, they had to pair it with a pair that retailed closer to 200, even if people didn't even want that other pair. Once the packs finished, they could wipe the slate clean and basically say that everything is at least 150.
