Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

wished marvel had silver surfer. isn't he part of the infinity gauntlet storyline?
The Infinity Gauntlet storyline doesn't really involve any of the characters starring in most of these movies.

The main players haven't been introduced yet other than Thanos really. No Silver Surfer, no Memphisto, no Adam Warlock, etc. They got Nebula, Drax, and that about it. The main game changers are Adam Warlock and a bunch of cosmic entities like Eternity, Infinity, The Living Tribunal, Galactus, and save for TLT they all get smacked too minus Warlock's planning

The Avengers either get defeated or wiped out of existence, the Guardians don't even exist yet. Drax gets handled easy, he aint ready to kill Thanos at the time. I can't even remember if Gamora played an important role so I'll say no.

My whole main problem about them trying to pack all these heroes in to one film is that they'll have a bull **** answer to defeat the guy who literally becomes GOD of the universe.

Adam Warlock's coocon was confirmed by James Gunn. The coocon was in The Collectors collection.

I think fox still owns the rights to Silver Surfer :smh:

Yeah I know. I get the feeling he's gonna be a plot device deus ex machine to beat Thanos near the end instead of an established character with an actual motive and everything to properly portray his relationship with Thanos and why he's the only one that can beat him.

They have "miracles" in the next avengers, why can't we have the cosmic surfer in the next GoTG?

It's not even because Silver Surfer is a mutant or whatever, it's because SS belongs in the F4 universe (for the most part). So changing his origins will not work, it's the character and his image and likeliness that Fox owns.

Speaking of his collection.... Where was the aether when his servant tried to grab the infinty stone?

Gunn on the Collectors collection.

"There is the Slither creatures from my movie Slither behind the Collector; those guys are pretty obvious," said Gunn when asked to give a guide to The Collector's museum. "You have Adam Warlock's cocoon. You have all sorts of characters from other Marvel movies; a Dark Elf back there, who's played by Doug Jones, one of our stunt guys." While the Collector's Museum is left in ruins in Guardians thanks to the Orb, Gunn hints how the character may have more items in the 2017 sequel. "I will say that is probably not the Collector's only museum," he said. "I think he probably has other spaces in which he keeps his incredibly vast selection. That's just his Knowhere wing [in the movie]."

While they don't have Silver Surfer they can still adapt. If they had more space movies out they could've already developed a Korvac, Wraith, In-Betweener, the Stranger, Quasar, etc.

Surfer's role isn't that integral that he couldn't be replaced.

Those nova helmets though

 yucky

I like the nova Corps helmet for the generic intergalactic cop since the movie isn't the same in the books where they get super powers, right? They are more like gun totting space cops than GL-like.
But if they do pull off Nova, I am confident Marvel can make that helmet look cooler, they pulled off Starlords well.

Plus if you really think about it, the comic helmet would look dumb if copied exactly alike. That red thing on his helmet would look ridiculous unless they alter it heavily but if anyone can do it, Marvel can.

Last month, the day after Marvel Studios revealed the first footage from Avengers: Age of Ultron among other things at San Diego Comic-Con, the annual Nerd HQ held its "Conversation with Joss Whedon" via FaceTime as the the writer-director was still recovering from knee surgery in London.

The last Marvel question Joss Whedon was asked was about Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which Marvel Studios had just announced the day before the Nerd HQ panel, and how James Gunn's 2017 sequel will affect what he has going for The Avengers. "I was not aware of what they were going to announce," he admits, "because I sort of stay away from everything else as much as I can while I'm trying desperately to finish [Age of Ultron]. We're two weeks away from finishing and I'm two days away from actually finishing the script as well. So, it's a lot going on with me right now. Kevin [Feige] has a big plan and every now and then, he'll tell me part of it if he thinks it's going to affect what I'm doing or if he thinks what I'm doing is going to affect his. But as much as possible, I try to live in my own bubble. Guardians [of the Galaxy] is very much its own thing. They're not the Guardians of this galaxy; it's a different one. So, I can sort of keep them at arm's length, long enough to do my thing and then I'm sure everything is gonna get mixed together because it's Marvel."

Saw the movie last night in Imax.... movie was very well done, I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait til the next one!

Groot always had me laughing

How blaster? he had am infinity stone. He probably could have went toe to toe with thanos and held his own.

I don't know how, disarm him (like they did) then fight him. It just built up to nothing IMO. Like super shedder  (hate that I'm using this reference). He comes out of the rubble and you're like "it's going down now", aaaaaaand he dies.
