Guardians of the Galaxy (Film) - 8/1/14 - Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Benic

Days Of Future Past will be another extremely average, but underwhelming X-Men film. They need to restore this franchise to factory settings.

I still believe/really hope DofP will reset the whole universe and it'll be like starting from scratch. Hopefully that will give them a chance to do Cyclops some justice and have a proper Phoenix saga and explore the galaxy/universe with the M'Kraan crystal, Shi'ar and an actual Dark Phoenix. Got to wait where they end up though and how it moves forward to an Apocalypse film.

I just don't see any good coming out of all of this. They had the chance with First Class to start fresh, and they really didn't. Just made things more complicated, and I think they're gonna follow that trend with this film. I literally can't see how the X-Men universe can be fixed.

I can see it where the future stopped existing including X1-X3. Like when Wolverine goes back in time and changes stuff and that becomes the main timeline and goes from there. Kind of like how Abrams Star Trek created a new alternate future for the characters.

First Class was only confusing because it was so inconsistent with the rest of the franchise but it was suppose to be a reboot and the other films really shouldn't exist anymore but Singer wanted to combine them and make them all into one. So I think that is a possible fix to the inconsistencies and with Fox already planning a bunch of other follow-up films to avoid further inconsistency shows that there is hope in straightening everything out.

After DofP, everyone should probably forget everything else, outside of maybe First Class (maybe the Wolverine too, they'l likely stop mentioning the past X-films since he is over Jean so they might just consider that as it's own reboot), moving forward unless the movie just goes a completely different place and confuses everyone further.

I think that is the safest and best way to restart the franchise at this point.

That's the thing though, we can't forget. Everything is connected. I'm hoping that this film wipes everything out of existence prior to First Class. I don't like the film much, but it was decent I guess. Also, say if they do fix everything, the original First Class cast is coming back for the Apocalypse film right? It just seems like it's going to be a continuation of the X-Men universe.

Eh, Superman gets flack on the Batman game thread, DC gets bashed on the Avengers thread, Marvel/Disney gets brought up in every comic book thread that isn't made by Marvel/Disney,etc...

That's nothing new.

That's why my hope is that after DofP, they won't be anymore. Anything that is the future the past timeline just simply won't exist. So the inconsistency of Prof X and Mystique ignoring each other in X1-X3 didn't happen and I'm the Juggernaute b*tch simply never existed.

I guess that's all we can do is hope for the moment.

But now I'm confused about all this time travel mumbo jumbo. Won't changing something in the future just affect that timeline, and not the current one?
Where's JA and Kang the Conqueror to make sense of all this?

Nah, they are changing something in the past to alter the future, Wolverine is going back to the 70s and he'll deal with the Sentinels before they become a big problem as it is in the future.

Oh yeah, forgot. But whatever. The trailer looked good, but so did Origins. I'll just wait and see but I have -10 expectations for this film.

But this is what I said on why the future heroes in DofP wore black leather because bright spandex make them much more visible when hiding from Sentinel and I got chastised for it.
That's cuz all sentinels can id you by your x-gene not by how colorful your clothes are.

The reason the costumes from the comics aren't in the movies is cuz the creative types involved in the production think they look stupid in live action.

But is Singer going to follow that trait? Does this whole X-movie franchise stay true to the comics all the time? I mean just look at how the shape-shifting Sentinels look and you'll see that Singer is taking a lot of liberty with the franchise.

Common sense still dictates that if you want to hide, don't wear bright color clothes, wear black.

Again I am not even defending how it looks now, let's just say it is terrible all around, but black makes sense if you want to be kept hidden. Not to mention there are also that reports mutants that they see so if you are a human, you aren't going to detect their genes but if you see someone in a bright yellow and blue spandex, you'll get an idea that they are different and mutants dresses as such especially if you're in a team. If you are anti-mutant, you see some dude with yellow and blue spandex with an X on their chest, of course you'll report them as a mutant and part of the XMen.

Look, we all want to see these guys in their original colorful gear but don't tell me it doesn't make sense tow ear black and dark color clothes if you want to stay hidden in the shadows and not get noticed.

So to assemble Groot you need to assemble all of them. That suit is called the Godkiller suit? Isn't that the one from his recent adventures with the Guardians?

Did anyone read the GotG prelude comic that came out today?

Nebula and Gamora are pretty much sisters in this movie. Ronan has trained them both as well as Korath to serve their master Thanos. The comic also details how Nebula got her cybernetic implants and body parts

I actually like that they are sisters. Been low ki thinking about how they would handle that. Can't wait for a Nebula x Gamora fight scene

The next one is about Groot and Rocket

It is technically the suit he has with GotG in the recent comics but it's an evolution from GodKiller armor though that is mainly a nickname as it's the comic books arcs name instead of an official armor name.

Thought I wasn't expecting him to wear that armor in IM3, I did expect an space exploration suit (Deep Space Armor/Sub Orbital) as the end-credit instead of him and Banner talking.

Is the god killer armor the one he got made for him when he went to Asgard?
