Official Photography Thread: Vol. ICan'tFindTheLastOne

I really hope I can learn to take photos like some of the cats in here.

Anyway, took these today w/ the D60 I copped yesterday...

Any tips on how to take really good landscape or general surrounding pictures? (i.e. ISO, aperture etc.) It seems like all the ones I take really suck. Theonly ones that I like are the close ups/mid-range shots.

Newb question tho...What's C&C?

i used it on my d60 and it wasnt that bad. i used to set it at barely out of focus and snap a pic then turn the focus ring again and snap a pic and so on untili got barely out of focus the other way so that at least i would hopefully have a few shots in focus.

Why would you need so many? I have a 4 gig and I haven't even come close to filling it up....but then I always dump them onto my computer after each shoot.

That's a HELL OF A DEAL! Get them and re-sell them or something.

Class 6 SD cards go for about $30 - $50 each (2GB) if not more.

C&C is just "comments and criticism".
For landscapes during the day, turn the ISO down as low as you can, the aperture closed (a high number), and the shutter speed to something like 1/30 orhigher. At night, I usually set the ISO at 400 at the highest and the aperture at about f/22 and set the shutter speed for 8-10 seconds. Or, you can close theaperture all the way and set the shutter speed for 30". You'll want a tripod for both if you have the time--definitely for night, depends on whatyou're looking for during day shots.

Class 6 (Extreme III from SanDisk) Give you 20 - 32MB/s. That is better for photography/video.

Just another contribution, was taken over a month ago and forgot i had it. Was trying out HDR pictures but this one looked cool with just plain old negativeexposure. I really wanna buy the Canon 10-22 but don't feel like dropping $700 on one
