It's decent. If i get the T1i, its gonna be body only, and probably get a 17-40mm f4L, or the 17-85mm IS.

or get a real glass like the 17-55IS

The 18-200mm VR is definitely a nice piece of all-around glass. It is a great walkaround lens as well. It's mighty sad that I settled for theSigma OS version...

Thats a reach for my budget, lol. For that price, it should also include a lens hood... like Nikon.

Lol, i still don't know why you would do that... the 70-300mm VR is a hell of a lens though. Just get the 70-300 and the D90.
I'd do it cuz it sucks having to carry two lenses and switch back and forth, missing stuff. To have two in one would be amazing, even a lilbit heavier and more money, and possible creep, its worth it imo. I'm done with sneakers that if I sell enough pairs I'm going to make the plunge.. Iwant the 70-300 for reach for nature type bird pics, so I'd need the VR.. I would love to have something like 500mm f/4 but thats crazy money right there

well there are some programs you should download that can tell you. i'm not exactly sure but you can google it. i know there's a nikonprogram that will do it for you.

do you have mac or pc? i have a program on my mac that i could give to you if you want it.

also, don't edit your pictures in any way (i think. because some times it takes it off, sometimes it doesnt) because the "Nikon EXIF" get'sstripped if you do.

send me a raw pic and i can check for you if you'd like.

If you trying to call me out - you failed - but I think you are actually asking a serious question ..

The 17-40L is not a real glass when stacked next to the NON L wow did I say a NON L is better than a L yes I did say a NON L is better than a L17-55IS f/2.8 IS with better IQ - Sharpness - CA arbritation - Less Distorition - Better Color rendering contrast rendering - element having etc etc etc thanit ...

P.S. Santi I dont think 200 bucks are going to hurt for a better glass man .. use 17-40's are going for about 600 and used 17-55's aregoing for 800 he he he but that of course giving the fact that the 17-40 can be found for cheaper more often than not ..

P.S.S. Who knew that the 17-40 was part of a kit lens with the 10D???? LOL ..

P.S.S.S. Oh by no means am I saying the lens is bad or does not render super quality pictures - all I'm saying is that for a crop camera the17-55IS is just plain better IMHO - 17-40L just has it beat in build and red bands and it fits a full frame!

Yeah the only real issue with the 17-55 that i have read about is moisture getting into the lens. For whatever reason Canon made this lens withshi* build quality, with dust and moisture issues. 17-40 is weather sealed so you don't have to worry about that but as stated already the 17-55 is abetter lens. 17-40 is a great lens on full frame though.

^^Santi - yeap better for lowlight and portait work while rendering superior DoF ... yeap thats the lens for me and not only to me but many other people ....

like I said the 17-40 is a beautiful lens and the better build quality makes it worth it ... but IMHO I will not take it over the 17-55IS ever ...

you cant go wrong with either ..

Its a lil cheaper on lesser known sites, but I prefer sticking to the majors.. its 700 at Adorama and B&H.. but B&H has free shipping..when your spending that kinda money every dollar counts, esp now
grin.gif
.. plusyou could put it towards a uv filter
