18-55mm new is $160 and the 55-200mm is like $210 but used idk.. check ebay or craigslist.. I guess depends on how much use they have on them..

ITs definitely fun to have video on the DSLR as a option. It gets you into making videos and editing. I made this to go with my Warriors photos:

unfortunately i dont have a setup photo taken during the GTR shoot.

so heres a setup shot when i shot my car awhile back

here is the result.

and the 17-40 f/4L has never come off my previous 40D nor my current 50D.

btw. i sold my XT and picked up an XTi for the same price i sold my XT for.

the rig shot of the GTR was taken with my XTi.

I said it before but the HD thing will be a normal thing after a couple of years on both p&s and DSLRs...but what makes the DSLRs better is the lensswapping. I really want to get a macro and see how that is on video. But it is definitely fun and it gives more options to do stuff. When I am out, I amconstantly shooting and then switching to video right after to capture stuff. It's dope.

if anything you should have just put the camera down on the ground completely so that it would be level. also, a timer could have been used so that you couldhave the opportunity to get away from the camera to eliminate the possibility of the shadow.

Neither of them will Autofocus. Get the AF-S 35mm f/1.8G. You wont be disappointed. Even FX users are loving this lens.
