I've just bought a 50mm f/1.8 lens the other day...

I haven't gotten the opportunity to take it out, so I tried shooting things around the house.

My parents told me they wanted some portraits done, so we went out and shot some pretty nice stuff. Probably the best portraits I've take so far. I'llpost them up soon.

Anybody?

A lot of the work I've seen is too boring or difficult to recreate.

Damn, this thread has some really nice stuff up now.

Yesterday, I was snapping shots at my family party with my XSi
and when I uploaded them on to my computer a few pictures ended up like this...

here's a two examples:

I'm not sure what exactly is wrong because I looked at these picture on my camera and through my camera's screen it looks fine, no discoloration whatso ever. it's only when I viewed them on my computer.

This shoot is really and I mean really good at least IMHO. I wish you would of have had the entire body, but still good nevertheless .. the B/W reallyworked.

Santi - that shoot you posted twice is sweet man - you got it right my favorite shoot too the bird added to the overall composition at least IMHO - you need toget that DSLR and put it to work my dude ...

Santi -

#1 - Sweet pic, I love the grip he has around her throat

. Just kidding.. Nice composition and good timing with the bird flying there. I would have addedsome vibrance/saturation though.

#2 - The crop is a bit weird, too much in the top and bit tight in the middle. Same here with saturation, I know I tend to (over-)do it a lot but thats how Ilike it.

#3 - This is a better crop imo, you seem to have gotten some haloing around the two though.

#4 - I like this version better than #1 actually, best of the set!

I didn't think there would be another person shootingwith Ricoh here on NT. Everyone's so adamant about sticking with Canon or Nikon.
