I see the new globe thing being the HDR thing. Those pics are so dope!....even though I only see it appeal to certain types of people.

I have the Flexify 2 thing, but its too complicated. You mind sharing your graphic design knowledge, so we can stop butchering globes?

Yeah when HDR hit the graphics "scene" it was equivalent to Soulja Boy puttin out a hit record. It was mildly amusing at first but it QUICKLYbecame horrid. I can tell that doing Filter > Polarized Chords is gunna ruin "globe" pics. Its so cheap. If you want authentic Globes you have totake pics in a Mercator projection style and then use a PTGui sticher and then use Flexify II

Sup_

Yeah its going to get played out like HDRs.

The Globe effect is okay but you will get tired of it easily. I still like HDRs more because how
dramatic it looks.

Peace.

Here's my attempt at the globe thing. The pany I used wasn't the best but I wanted something with lights and a dark background. It kind of lookslike a spaceship. Kind of neat how simple and interesting these things come out but it really should only be used for fun. I'll probably take time andeffort to compile a better looking one....but this is just kind of a test anyways.

Those globes are great. The red lighthouseything is really suspect looking though!

I totally agree about HDR - I love it as a technique and use it regularly but I hate those pictures that are really dark and weird looking - waaay overdoneIMO.

I like to just increase the range a little to make things a little more interesting - but I use a really low amount.

im lookin for a little advice here...im starting to get into photography and wanted to do more of it...im going to start doing photography for actress/modelportfolio's, portraits, fashion, but i'm also interested in doing more landscapes and my usual...i might also be able to get some gigs shooting somemusicians shows...im basically looking for advice on what type of camera to get...i've played around with the Rebel and i like it, but i wanted something alittle more so i was thinking either the Nikon D80 or the Canon 40D, leaning more towards the Canon...my friends uncle is a photographer and has tons of lensesthat he barely ever used and would be willing to sell me for a good price, so if i got the Canon what lenses should i look into for my needs...

also, has anybody ever dealt with this guy on ebay before

http://stores.ebay.com/Time2Envy

his prices seem too good too be true, but his feedback is really good...thanks in advance for the help

I would get something small to start off with like a d40/x or canon xt/i. But if u have the money get the 40d. As for lenses Get a prime 50mm 1.8 or if u havethe money 1.4. Its really good for head shots and fashion shoots. And as for landscape i would get a a wide angle lens. I do alot of photoshoots and i havea 50mm and 85mm 1.8 both use for photoshoots. You can also use those for music shows since there good for low lighting. Hope that helps. Heres some pics i usedmy 50mm and 85 mm
