Good stuff Santi! Is it easy to stitch them up in PS? What's the place in the photo?

When taking pano's do I use autofocus or do i lock the lens and a use manual setting? also how do i determine how many pictures i need to stitch? Is therea certain rule where you need an X amount of pictures before its called a a panoramic?

Thanks man, Yeah... PS does all the work for the stitching. I took the pic in Ottawa, Ontario. The building to the right is the Parliament Building, and to theleft is an art school I think.

i'm thinking of picking up a minolta X-370 for 50 bucks off craigslist.any advice on what type of lens i should pick up?

Whenever I got white skies, I just select it, and then set the color level so that it turns blue, but not to the point where it doesn't look natural.

Same street, same lens, different angle, different processing.

Trying out my new Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8...love it. It was totally worth the wait to have a fast UWA for crop bodies.

My first attempt at night-time photography... out of the 25-or-so that I took, only 4-5 turned out 'decent'...

I've got a long way to go...

I know I am beating this spot like a dead horse but it as nice outside and the sky was just too awesome to pass up. Aside from stitching all the photos omPS, I didn't want to enhance the colors at all, so this is as natural as it was outside tonight.

^ haha... inspired from some of your stuff... yeah, used my gorilla-pod actually... had it wrapped around the railing... damn tourists kept on knockin on thebar, causing minor vibrations...

yea i used my gorilla pod too when shot w/ my leica, but damn u mustve bought the big one huh, cuz the small one i have def cant hold up the 450d lol

yeah, you need the one for the DSLRs... there are actually 3 different sizes I think...

I usually use it on auto and focus on the furthest point - then lock it.

You could use manual too - the important thing is that you don't change anything between shots.

@fong

You think of doing an hdr with that one? It'll bring out the foreground to match the beautiful sky.

Is there a way to do HDR without taking 3 or 4 different exposures?

Yep. I haven't been advertising this but I found out by accident that if you just drop a raw file into photomatix you can make an HDR from that - it workspretty well - especially for things where the traditional way wouldn't work - e.g. moving objects.

Just drop it in and then go straight to tonemapping and you're done. IMO it works better than outputting the file as separate images and then combiningthose.

I honestly don't know how to do an HDR pics. I thought you had to take 3 pics...one under exposes, one over exposed and one in the middle. If anyonewants to do it for me, by all means, go for it. Or if you could link me up with some tutorials, let me know......

I tried playing with your picture...this is actually my first time since i just got Photomatrix last night. I got 3 final pictures after playing with thesettings. I still don't think it looks right since the picture looks grainy afterwards...maybe its my laptop. but here are the pictures.

Sample 1. just messed with the settings a little bit
