When I take my own pictures, they don't look as good. I have a Digital Canon Rebel XTi.

For real. Sometimes when i think I have a crisp photo, I look at others and notice it isn't that sharp. It kind of pisses me off....

....but for real it does.

You guys should check out some of the photos on FecalFace. They have a blog and the guy/gal there takes some dope shots...

Just got this in the mail today. A pretty minty Yashica-44 aka "Baby Yashica" shoots 127 film in 4cm by 4cm format.

A lot of people fail to realize that the lens is far more important than the camera body. Do you happen to use the 18-55mm kit lens? Do some research andyou'll find lenses with excellent sharpness, contrast and build. Remember, you usually get what you pay for. If you want the top of the line Canon lens, check out the L-series. Once you get the L fever...you won't wantto go back.

i believe quicksilver has/uses a canon 40d. don't know what lens he has mounted but he has a 40d and a xti. but it is very true that the lens makes all thedifference...that and the lighting. good quality glass>>>camera body itself.

blah!

Thanks for the input Rap Sizzle.
qksLvrtypeS, what lense(s) do you use? your pictures always come out amazing.

thanks all...

i agree with rap sizzle lol although i have YET to buy an L lens...so for now....i am switching off of kit lens and the 50mm f/1.8

my flash setup is only 2 ebay triggers, and 2 flashes which are the canon 430ex and vivitar 285hv ( even though it crapped out on me a couple of times thatnight) and since my buddy also brought his gear, we also utilized his trigger and nikon sb600

well my editing kinda goes like this - auto contrast, auto colors..then mess around with the levels, adjust brightness, saturation, and then mess around withshadow/highlights a little bit of USM (unsharp mask - too much is overkill i try to use it only when i need it...i used USM on only a few of the pics i postedup) and then reduce the noise whenever i end up with a grainy pic .... 40D's noise reduction on high iso is absolutely great!

oh yeah i only have the XT not the XTi...but MAYBE i will get the XTi cuz my XT just crapped out again....for the 3rd time...so hopefully best buy is able toreplace it....

btw..the vintage looking pic i used the vintage action and adjust it to my liking....I.E. desaturate and mess with the color levels.

i really want a DSLR ... I have a Canon Rebel Ti (Old Camera) But im truly broke and cant afford a DSLR. I have a 28-90mm lens... is that any good? and can itbe put on a a Canon DSLR?

some of you guys are amzingly creative. i suck geeze... i need money for a pimp camera and lens. =[

Anyone here have a canon 10-22mm or Tokina 12-24 lens. I want to get a wide angle lens and have looked up reviews for both, just wanted to see what users haveto say if anyone has used either one, thanks.

i'm about to pick up a canon 10-22mm. my suggestion, go try out the lens in person. i tested it last week and fell in love w/ it. it's all aboutpersonal preference. the sigman 10-22 is also worth a look if money is an issue. a lot cheaper w/ a slightly shorter range but i hear it's a damn good lensfor the money

blah!

^ Sigma...crappy? I'll respect your opinion but thousands of photographers out there beg to differ.

I unfortunately have been hit with the L-fever and shopping for lenses while trying to save money has been ridiculously difficult.

Some reviews:
Tokina12-24 f/4
Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8
Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

I haven't tried any of the Tokinas but I borrowed the 10-22 from a friend a while ago and used it during a trip to Paris. I actually had the lens on duringthe whole trip because of the very useful zoom range. I think the Tokina 11-16 is a nice alternative, it even received better results than any other ultra zoomavailable according to the tests at Photozone I link to above. The extra length of the Canon makes it useful for more situations but f/2.8 is nice as well, especially under low light conditions. I guess you have to try it at the store to make your decision if you can't make up your mind. Good thing is to bringyour own camera and takes some pictures with each lens and then decide. You can even upload the photos to your pc to have a closer look.
