I have a G10. When my only other cameras at the moment include 3 medium format, large format, and a Polaroid camera (cheki) it comes in very handy.

i've always loved the color isolation in P&S cameras. seems so cool, to my eyes. i really like the above (not color isolated, correct?),for its timelessness. this could have been a shot from yesterday or yesteryear or even yesterdecade!

i agree with kdwallace, i've always preferred canon P&S. it's probably the only thing i recommend from canon, actually. any P&Sfrom 2 years ago to today will be fine.

The Canon SD series are pretty small and good for everyday use. They are super cheap now too. I think I saw a SD1000 go for $150 and they used to sell for $240-$300.

are you sure you didn't forget to turn off a function (red eye)?

Still in school, graduate in the spring.

Been in couple group shows in Chicago, nothing self supporting or anything along those lines… Actually working on graduate school applications (fingerscrossed). Still working on "The Sneakerheads" (going to be in NY in a week and LA in like 2.5 weeks) but actually pushing more an offshoot project ofthat called "Anecdotes from a Sneakerhead" that most of the photographs from that are on my flicker but really image/text based work, so it'skinda hard to "get" without the text like it is on my flicker, but I don't really like flicker as a vehicle for my photography/art anyways. And Isort of fancy photography more as a vehicle for my ideas rather than myself a photographer anymore (other than maybe "the sneakerheads" that'svery formal portraiture). The image is only so powerful.

But also starting another project too be my first large format body of work that sort of hinges on the recreation of sort of iconic imagery created by"hood" cinema and rap videos in the late 80s to mid 90s. Almost like film stills from like Paid In Full, New Jack City, etc. as well as"classic" rap videos but less built on the performance aspect of the song/rapper and/or the narrative of the film and more on what about that imageryis iconic to the "hood" and how that functions within that culture as construct of it.

Few other things on the plate as well but I don't really like putting all my cards out.

niiice. thats sounding good, man. i'll be at sac state by the fall entering their photography program.

what are you taking up?

Oh it's always been (or least since I've been in art school) photography/graphic design. But graduate school wise I'm only applying for tophotography programs. Mostly cause only reason to go to graduate school for graphic design is to teach (which I have no interest in doing) and graduate schoolfor photography is virtually a necessity to get into the "gallery system" of the "high art" world.

doppe.

yeah i can't wait to get out of this community college. all this academic work/general ed has been slowing me down to do more shooting, pretty wack.

^Word. Good luck. My advice: become a super technically proficient photographer, make %%%%@%@ ill work that has depth/meaning, or just get like a photographyswag where you're like dripping that !!%%, wavy as they say. Or a combination.

^^ ebayologist, i'm currently a senior in HS right now, and i'm taking graphic design as my career pathway--

any tips? lol.

& any helpful websites you go on that have good tutorials and such for photoshop/illustrator?

Well if you want to go to art school have reasonably good grades(most don't require out of this world good...) and solid portfolio. Just my thoughts ongraphic design I'd like read/look at books from classic designers try to build things based on just things you find that but I wouldn't stress it toomuch or try too hard. Most art schools would rather see a lot of potential as designer than like realized technical skill that an instructor at that school canteach you the same and probably better.

Naw brah...the Nikon just sucked! My roommate has the same problem with her Sony that is the same style camera. Maybe there have been upgrades now but backthen (3 years ago), all my flash pics were just horrible.
I seen the G10 and I know this is just a style thing but I don't like the overall design of the camera. I liked the G9 a lot better even though itwasn't that ergonomically convenient. Haven't shot with my G9 in a while but never really did like the camera that much. Plus even though it wassmaller then a DSLR, it's not like these cameras can fit in your pocket. I would rather just get a Canon Sd series and have a DSLR on the side....

I'm addicted ... To much damn fun!!!!!

These where taken today ....

1st set - Straight from the Camera - No editing beside borders and re-sizing but you probably can tell by the poor quality ..

I'm not positive about pricing, but doing it yourself is straight forward. Look into it on google / youtube.

My 430ex ii and Sto-fen diffuser just came in. I'm still learning about lighting though. Hopefully I'll get better soon.
