Took a couple of quick pictures of my bag for you ..

I have the body - 4 xtra lenses - cleaning equipment - charger(battery) and space for a flash ...

I NEED HELP I HAVE A CANON REBEL XT and i'm looking for a good wide angle lense and i was wondering if you guys can give me some info on where to get onefor a reasonable price.

when it comes to lens - reasonable prices are usually 40-80 dollars off if that .. once in a while you can get a bargain but you have to look and even when youdo you have to make sure the lens its in good condition (no dust/scratches/sharp/etc) .. For your XT I would rec. the Sigma 10-20mm not as sharp as its rivalstokina 11-16 or canon 10-22 but def a good affordable lens .....

you can find a used one for about $350-$400

Probably will answer what you are asking. I just bought a Lowpro bag a couple of weeks a go and it gas been great for what I have considering I have barely any lenses and just need something to keep my camera away from dust.

Just read some ...

My bag is a Lowepro Mini Trekker ..

Anyone have any tips on how to take good pics with a Sony Cybershot camera? (7.2 mp)

I'm just fooling around with it..I plan on buying a "REAL" camera pretty soon.

So you want to carry your laptop and camera together all the time? I suggest the Lowepro Fastpack 250 since you're only carrying one body andone lens. It can fit laptops up to 15.4". There are plenty of messenger bags that can hold both a laptop and camera equipment but since you only have theXSi and kit lens, it's gonna be real empty in there.

Messing around with my Cybershot to see what it could do.

elboricua, what exactly is your reason for keeping your lenses in plastic bags? The bag already has padded dividers so I really don't see the point ofwrapping them in plastic. I baby the hell out of my equipment and even I don't store them to that extent. Also, what's in that box? It just doesn'tlook convenient having to remove equipment from another layer of storage. I dont' mean to come off as a jerk but I'm really curious as to why you havechosen to keep your gear that way.

I'm dying of boredom here so I might as well just post some stuff from my blog. These are old photos taken with my XT...back when I was just starting offwith photography.

One of my first shots with my 40D:

Dude, I welcome all C&C ..

To answer all your questions - I was being lazy!

I got the bag about two days ago, along with the rocket blower, 5 piece care kit (what's in the box) and micro fiber cloth and I just put everything insidefrom my original storage places which was the actual lens boxes (that's why they still have all the plastic) ..

I didn't bother to take everything out of the bag and put in the "bag" only one was the sigma lens and that's because they come in the fancypouches and I didn't have it double wrap.

^ oh alright...cos I must say, you'd have to be a real clean freak to keep each individual lens wrapped in plastic

but i do know a guy (the one that sold me the cam) that keeps everything in Ziploc and in a lowepro bag stating that dust gets in everywhere - lol

I just cant deal with opening the bag to take the lens of another bag to change lens - by that time my shot is already gone ... especially now with thiscoldness hitting us!

I understand you're shooting with a point & shoot so you have very little control of your shots but if you, yourself, feel like a photo isgarbage, ask yourself whether it's worth sharing. Don't take photos for the sake of having something to show or post. Try and capture an image that youor other people might find interesting, conveys some sort of emotion or message, and maybe even thought-provoking.

Oh and if you get a DSLR...go Canon!

davevirgile, get Photoshop so you can keep the EXIF data intact.

north your photo suck .. did you bother to clean your lens - look at your face - to much noise for my taste .. lmao

hahaha

but for real - it think a lot of people will tell you don't center your subjects - try for thirds - that's the only I cant tell you as I dont knowwhatelse to say because Im no pro ....

I just got in my 'nifty-fifty' today. I've been looking for one for a while and finally found a good deal. It's only f/1.8, but I hope to moveon up to a f/1.4 sometime soon. I'm really surprised with the clarity and the distortion (or lack thereof).
