Official Photography Thread: Vol. ICan'tFindTheLastOne

Ladies and gentlemen...I present to you my new toys...

Pictured: B+W 77mm 010 MRC UV filter, B+W 72mm 010 MRC UV filter, 24L, 85L II, 5D Mark II + grip, Sandisk Extreme III 16GB.
Not pictured: 50L (arriving next week)

For those of you who've never seen the 85L...it truly is a beautiful peace of glass...

In front of my Megan Fox poster

I'm ecstatic right now. I've got the newest Canon DSLR available (so don't expect me to pick up another camera body anytime soon

) and I'vecompleted my dream of having a prime trinity composed of the 24L, 50L,85L II. I gave up an arm and a leg to get this set of equipment so I'm done spending for a while. If you guysthink I have ridiculous equipment, check out photography forums. All I'll be left with is 5DII, 5D, 24-70, prime trinity, 100 macro and 580ex...everythingelse will be gone to new owners. Anyway...off to start shooting.

Rap you really killed it with all that equipment!

Now you have my mind wondering if I should!

But I have to be strong and say "NO" I dont need that "YET"!!

Nice pick ups Rap.

elboricua 6: I've heard bad things about the photo program at the Art Institute in DC, butthat's just from people's experience.
Hopefully it's not true for you if you decide to go there.

Oh word? What have you heard? At this point I'm just gathering information - I'm looking or a school that offers AA or BA or both. Did you attend anyschool, if so which one and what did achieve (Degree wise)? Thanks for the info!

jcinista: Looks like he used a warming filter. Probably in PS or a camera setting. If you haven't used filters before, proceed with caution. A lot ofpeople start using filters far too often when the first start using them and then all of their photos start coming out yellow or blue. Hope that helps.

Rap Sizzle: You're crazy. That's beautiful.

a few pics from recently: all shot with the nikon 70-200 f/2.8 lens..................
somehow, i cant get that stupid lcd on top of the last train pic to stop spinning................oh well................

yesss fanny pack! haha

i didnt want to roll with a backpack because i'm already going to be wearing one (not for the most part but oh well)

it feels better too
smile.gif

^^ I bet -- lol

I was wondering how much you guys think I should sell/get for the kit lens (18-55 IS)??

I told someone around $90 bucks - but not sure!

Jesus................I need Rap money....

On another note....I tried doing this on one of my Canon lens and couldn't get it right for nothing. You're just focusing on the damn lens right? Itlooks almost photoshopped.

I just heard that it doesn't have a great photo program. I thought about transferring there but haven't made up my mind yet.
I go to MC in Rockville and i'm hoping to transfer out after this semester.

Oh word, where are you planning on transferring? That school you attend for some odd reason sounds familiar - is it in MD?

Just got my "nifty-fifty" 50mm F1.8 II for my rebel xsi. Unfortunately i'm told it acts like an 80mm for an xsi, so to get a true 50mm i need toget a 35mm, which is a bit more pricey. Either way, im loving the lens as is.
*
*please excuse if what i said above is complete garbage, thats the info i gathered from asking photography store associates and other photography forums*

Pic i took with nifty-fifty today:

the nifty-fifty is still a 50mm lens regardless of which body it's mounted. however, since you have a cropped sensor your effective field ofview (fov) is about 88mm. for the fov of any lens on your camera you're going to have to multiply the focal length by 1.6. hope that hope that helps

blah!

lol .. that's pretty sick my dude ... no lie that's your best shot those far as far as sharpness goes ... the only thing wrong is the stupid Jeep butthat couldn't be avoided ..

Props

and I said screw the inauguration - I stayed in the Office supporting - I didn't want to deal with crowds and the coldness and glad I didn't because mypeeps left at 5 to be there at 7 to stand around till like the damn parade started (got delayed) and didn't get back till 8pm .. all in the tents which hadchairs heater and tvs but to damn crowed .. well at least most of them got to meet Obama and took pictures with him .. I'm not worry - I'll get my turn
smile.gif

Anyways, I took a couple of pictures about 1 hour ago but I'm pretty upset ..

I keep doing this stupid mistake just by being in a hurry or not thinking ..
This pictures has a lot of blur on it, not because I didn't have a tripod, but because I forgot to take off the IS before I snapped the picture - not tomention you have some ghosting because I forgot to also take off the stupid filter - maybe the blur is not do to the IS but the filter - either way - I have tore-shot this one cause I like it!
