I really like that one because as you can see he was just curious to what I was doing with the camera and I happen to catch him. I contemplated ifI should/shouldn't crop the picture but at the end of it I didn't because if you notice I was inside my car just snapping away while on the light if Icrop I will loose that - that's my opinion .. what you think?

Also I know my pictures are booty being that this was my 1st outing taking snapshots - but good lord Critique me so I know what I did wrong ..

50mm don't mind the lens flare, but if you look, it's REALLY hazy.. idk why?? this lens is pretty old, at least 15 years i think, and i think my dad bought it in hong kong.

What sort of lens is it? My 30+ year old Nikon has really nice color. Some lenses just have different characteristics - and some just aren't good. Could bethat it's a little past it.

It seems fine, you're just shooting at large aperture into bright light. Judging from the other photos it also seems ok, just adjust wb and they are fine, seems fairly sharp and all. You also could stop down a few to get the edge to edge sharpness. What is it that you are not satisfied with? Want to post somemore photos?

i dont think there's anything wrong. you caught a good variety of personalities.

in that one pic, i just think the people walking to the left and the trash can to the right kind of draw too much attention for my eyes.

Fongstarr - That D90 + 10.5mm fisheye combo seems awesome! To both be able to take photos and film with that is really making me want it. Cool video!

^ Dude, you're a Canon shooter! Get a 5D Mark II and EF 15mm f/2.8 instead. 1080p HD man...think about it.

Yeah man but that forbidden fruit seems so sweet
wink.gif
Nah but its a huge difference in pricing between those and I'm afraid I can't put up that much forthe mkII right now.. Plus the D90 is nice!

lol ... cool picture - the sky really cooperated on those shots my dude ..

my questions to you is .. how can you be rocking a t and shorts on one pic and on the next you have a goose down .. lmao - i just find that funny!

Thanks. Either brand that you get, you'll still deal with issues with the camera being shaky and issues with the manual focus. I mean it istotally fun for what it is but it's not changing anything in the skateboarding game and since I am only using it for online video purposes, it seemssuffice for my needs. Its really got me into video editing though which is super fun.....its all I want to do.

Mr Fong your blog is awesome - I been meaning to say that for a minute - just keep forgetting!

I would love to start a blog but my life ain't as fun and exiting as yours .. LMAO

Nevertheless it would be nice if someone could do something like that for me -

^^^ Right on but dude....I am sure everyone has stories to tell whether they are simple or not so if you want, just start one. I mean NT is just one bigblog...."My girlfriend cheated on me"....."I met 50 Cent"....etc, and everyone and their momma is doing it. I don't do the Flickr,Myspace, Twitter or the Facebook thing so this is the extent of my networking and at times, it is just therapy for me to write stuff. But I am blessed that Ilive in an active city like San Francisco and there are so much to do here so I enjoy just capturing the moment. It motivates you to do so much and just to getout all the time. Lately cause of the weather, I've been chilling a lot but I do what I can. Like this weekend, they're are so many thing to takepictures of....Chinese New Year parade, Alien Workshop Skateboard premiere, my friend has a concert she is performing at and all this is free. It'sdope....

Found this stuff stashed in the downstairs closet. Looked up info on the cameras but doesn't look like they're worth too much. Anybody know about thelenses?

anyone else have this camera, i know its the basic camera of the alpha line.. any lens recommendations, im about to get a the hvl-f42am flash but not sure if it would be worth it to get the f58am instead...

I have the A300, which is pretty much the A200 plus the tilt screen with live-view. Great camera. I just bought the hvl-f42am this Saturday. I coldn't justify getting the F58am.

I would recommend a prime lens, either a Sony 50mm F1.4 or a Minola 50mm f1.7 if you want to save some money. That's what I ended up getting.
You can also check out the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. That might be my next pick up.

Great to see other alpha user here. I know we're in the minority! Sony/Minolta is pretty underrated, that's for sure.

plus it wouldve just blended in with the background . because black doesnt really reflect light, but rather kinda absorb it. thats why you see light modifiersblack on the outside to prevent from light spilling. and i didnt want the light to be restricted. i wanted the light to be dispersed. i hope that was funnyenough.

yes its loreal / sincere.

i did use photoshop to edit my photos but there was very minimal edit to them.

I just picked up my canon xs last week, so far i have a 50mm f/1.8 and kit lens. What other decently priced lens would you all recommend?
