Official Air Air Jordan IX/XIV Countdown post! 3-15-08!

Second pack to come out of eleven! These seem to be somewhat a little disappointing in alot ofpeople's eyes. This pack could have had so much potential if other colors were released. Instead of getting Charcoal or Powder Blue IX's we get anotherwhite/black version. Nothing wrong with the OG colorway, but why not give us another original color that hasn't retroed yet? The XIV's are anotherquestionable decision. These look like a take down version of the black/reds. It would have appealed so much more to me if these released with a white or evengrey sole.

A pattern seems to be developing with these countdown packs. We'll get one black based shoe and one white based shoe. Oneshoe from the pack seems to be altered from the original as well. We saw that with the #23 X's from the last pack and with the new look black/reds fromthis pack. And from what I hear we're going to get a black suede/red XVIII, a black nubuck XVII, and perhaps a white/ solid red tongue on the VII's(Hares...God, I hate using that name)...

Who knows though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the countdown packs bring us.

I am kinda disappointed in this pack because I already have these IX's, and the XIV's just bore me I debating whether skipping these would be a wise decision, I did say I wasgetting them because I wanted to continue with obtaining every pack that JB releases. I have my eye on some older kicks, and passing on these would makegetting the older shoes a little easier. My girl gets them %50 off so I can't complain with that though, that discount just makes my decision all themore harder. One pair of O.G.'s(which will remain nameless until I make my decision) or %50 off discounted IX/XIV countdown pack???? Decisions-Decisions.........

I think the XIVs need a little more. Too much black IMO. They did a nice job on the IX though.

By the way, the breathable mesh window on the XIV's isn't breathable any more. It's completely covered up by the insole.

I am thinking of getting another pack.

Say what you want about this pack but I like it. It will be my first pack of the year. I guess it doesn't hurt that I don't own a pair of blackXIV's and I have never owned a pair of IX's (I refused to buy the OG IX's because my feelings were hurt that Mike retired and I swore to never buyan Air Jordan Mike never played in) so I guess that helps. I am pretty disapointed in the package concept overall though....I would much rather had OGcolorways, and not just Bulls colorways....these packs don't even seem to stick to "OG" Bulls colorways either considering the changes that seemto be made I.E. the XIV's and the changes in the XVII's. Oh well, buy what you like...leave what you don't.

I just want the IXs like most. The 14s look a lot weaker in the live pics.

only reason I would get these is for the 14s. I'll probably wait till my discount can kick in

Ahh I dont know still. At first I had this pack marked on my calender. Then I bought a NDS pair of 02 IXs. Now I dont know whether I want to drop 310 on these.I really think that these will be around for retail or maybe a bit cheaper for a few months. Not necessairly in the stores, but definitley on ebay. Heres myrational: X/XIII pack is currently going for around $355 shipped on Ebay. In the store (in CT) they were around $330 with tax. Thats only $25 more than retail.The X were not that desireable, but were a non-retroed OG colorway. The XIII are probably the most desireable shoes out of the first two packs. They obviouslyare OGs as well. The IX is the only OG in this pack, and it was not the most popular back in 02. All XIV went on sale two yars ago, so that leads me to believethat this one is not going to be very popular as well. I am almost certain that you will be able to get these for a good price on ebay, maybe after 2 weeks oftheir release. If these sell better than the X/XIII ill be shocked.

Since were on this subject, these are my predictions for hype surrounding each pack
1. XI/XII Needs no introduction
2. VI/XVII Its been along time coming for the VI. Add the fact its the highly regarded carmine colorway and you have a frenzy. Still wont touch XI/XII hypethough.
3. VII/XVI Black/red XVI = sales. Plain and simple. An OG non-retroed VII only helps fuel this pack.
4. X/XIII First pack released, with a coveted non-retroed OG XIII and a not so coveted non-retroed OG X. The fact that this pack was first and that both are OGmake this pack a hot seller.
5. III/XX This one might move up a few spots if the XX is a nice colorway. Black/cement III is a high priority. The III should sell this pack alone
6. IV/XIX This pack could go up or down depending on the shape of the IV and the colorway of the XIX. I cant see people paying big money for the black/red XIXthat is only 4 years old.
7. V/XVIII This could be the ultimate sleeper pack. The V colorway is very popular, and a black/red XVIII sounds very promising.
8. IX/XIV Two shoes that didnt sell well when they retroed. Dont exepct miracles this time around either. Be patient, you will get it at a good price.
9. II/XXI Another sleeper, you can get the "poor mans lowtop version" for around $200 maybe less off of ebay.
10. I/XX2 I cant see this pack moving either. Even if the I are hightop, they still wont sell well unless their black/red. XX2 doesnt help the cause.
11. VIII/XV The least popular Jordan of all time with another retro that struggled to sell (besides OG colorways). Even the 03 OGs are going for under 200 aswe speak. This pack will be easy to get

This package reminds me of Kwame Brown, From Mad potential to Bust....well maybe not as bad as kwame brown

Im still undecided about buying this.
Leaning towards not buying it though.

My buddy wants this pack but doesn't even know %@* about J's.... I could care less. Still rocking OG XIV's but the IX's crumbled into dust 2-3years ago.

i almost want to say that i feel cheated with the xiv's, but that white stitching makes the sneaker look tough. i must have these. the ix's are blahhto me. those and the x's are my least favorite j's. but for 130.00 for two prs., why not, right?

Is the upper on the XIV all suede? No bueno.

These will still sell well..but they just don't appeal to me to wanna spend 310 dollars for one shoe that i really want..and that's the XIV's..ialready have the 2002 retro 9's..i'll save my money for a whole pack that i really want..
