Official "Going to Vegas in..." Vol. II "It was time"

Damn I lightweight wish I was out there for NYE. Looks like it's bout to a dry one out here spending it with the fam lol.

Man I hate the Sunday drive back too cali leaving vegas, haven't even hit the state line yet and been in traffic for a hour...

Word, took me 12 hours to get back to SD on the Sunday after Thanksgiving :x

This is why I'm not envious of my friends who live in SoCal. They all talk about how they can just hop in a car and drive to Vegas. Except almost every damn time I just hear horror stories about the traffic. I'm cool on that nonsense.

Honestly the flights are so cheap from LA, think I'm flying from now on. Especially on any holiday weekends.

True. I remember couple years back flying out of Long Beach on JetBlue was like 30 dollars (one way) I actually enjoying driving down there though. Also make 3:30-4hrs max.

Flying ftw, less than 2 hour flight from Portland and I get all that time to pre funk.

Except when your flight delays... :smh:

I can't stand driving to Vegas. Supposed to take like 8 hours and ends up being more like 10-12. Flight time is about 45 minutes. Plus when you drive you're so damn worn out all you wanna do is kick back in the room. Makes me feel like I waste my whole first day there.

I got some friends trying to convince me it's a great deal to drive in a rental and leave it there, then fly back. Really not trying to disappoint them cuz they're tryna save some $ by splitting the cost of the rental, but I'm finna just take a plane and meet them there  ain't bout that road trip life...

Something doesn't add up. Where are you coming from where it's suppose to take 8hrs but end up being 10-12hrs driving. Yet you said it only takes 45 mins flying???

San Francisco is an 8.5 hr drive and only an 1.25 flight.

If you book right and look ahead of time, flights can be had for as low as $100 round trip. But don't get fooled, prime Friday-Sunday round trip flights can be $250-300.

I don't mind the drive to Vegas, but despise the drive back and the "what ifs" around traffic, so I fly 99% of the time now. Quick 45 min flight and you're there :pimp:

I know. Flightdeal.com or Virgin are usually my go to's. I don't mind the drive out there. Absolutely loathe the drive back especially after a LIT weekend.

If the drive to vegas wasn't 17 hours I would much rather do that than have the 2.5 hour flight

We left at 1pm on Sunday and got back at 5:30pm. It wasn't bad at all, the trick was to avoid the traffic leaving around the border. We ended up taking the 215 thru some random highway that had no cars on it.

I may try this. I remember when Jetblue was clutch for Vegas flights out of Burbank and LAX.

I'll only drive if I'm doing Saturday to Monday (non holiday). During the summer those are the best trips IMO. Get two daytime pool parties plus Nightswim. No traffic either way.
