There is a difference between a Cop and a 911 Dispatch and I'm pretty sure there is no legal reason to follow a Dispatch's commands.

If someone's casing or loitering outside of my house, then I'm definitely gonna go out and talk to them while carrying concealed.  If they won't keep it moving, then that's when I leave and call the cops.

It's different than Zimmerman's case, but what I'm saying is that his actions while probably unneeded aren't beyond the realm of being understandable.

Apparently GZ lawyer spokesperson has told Ol don west about the picture, and I read on twitter he's not in court? And will issue a statement? Doesn't that violate something...not that his daughters are tweeting about the case but dude is IN the photo with those hashtags...

You're also not on neighborhood watch I presume? Look they tell you you must identify yourself to people you're approaching "on duty" and GZ didn't do any of that. They also tell you not to follow anyone and just call 911 and remain a safe distance away.this guy went on a power trip and violated everything neighborhood watch people are told to do, an he did this knowingly. He initiated the conflict here. TM has a right to defend himself when being followed. I find it pathetic that a grown man with mma experience weighing about 60 pounds heavier got beat up by a scrawny 150 lb 17 yr old, who was otherwise minding his business looking forward to going home and playing video games

Someone casing outside of your house is one thing given your example, but following a kid that has done and is not doing anything wrong or illegal is something totally different which is what George Zimmerman did.  At the end of the day George Zimmerman felt uneasy about a black kid (who happened to be Trayvon Martin) being in his neighborhood and decided to follow him because Zimmerman was not going to accept a black person in his neighborhood. 

Just out out curiosity TangoNoob, if you had a tally of all the individuals that you and your father deemed "sketchy" in the neighborhood, would you say that the majority of the "sketchy" individuals were black??

We're black...  All the sketchy people we've seen were white, then again we're in a white majority neighborhood.  I mean sketchy by like actually sketchy behavior that we may only see a few times a year,nothing crazy.  I remember an old dude talking to me from his car when I was like 6, I just walked slowly to the house away from him.  And a few years back we had a guy parked in a van outside of our house trying to get on our wifi. 

But I'm not denying that Zimmerman effed up big time and needlessly escalated the situation, but what I"m worried about is that if he gets found guilty, then what precedence does that set for self-defense laws in our country?
 
Also... It's neighborhood WATCH... Not neighborhood spring into action. If he wasn't going to listen to the dispatcher why did he call 911... The entire point is for them to handle the situation. Simple questions:

What were his intentions in pursuing TM? What was he planning on doing when he caught up to him?
Why not let 911 handle the situation after they told him his assistance was no longer needed?

Dispatcher was not police. Don't confuse the two, for the sake of the trial. We all know he shouldn't have followed him. That's common sense. Don't assume the role of police. But doing so, he didn't break any laws. He was just reckless.

Self defense?


If he is found guilty I think that would reaffirm that he wasnt defending anything.
That trayvon was defending himself from a sketchy guy running after him.
