adidas D.Rose 4?

Hey, when was adidas basketball shoes really that great? Other than the iman shumpert signature,as of late they havent produced anything worth getting excited over and those are retros.

The J wall crazy quicks arent bad and even I had some adizeros. Those are nice to play in..... But yea I agree, these new Rose 4s are TRASH!

A shame he has to make his return in them.

But yeah, what a great shoe for a comeback, really shows they care. Terrible...

Back in the day day I kinda wanted them abibas streetball joints, since I participated in few of their streetball tournaments...I wont lie - the tournaments were great. But take that with a grain of salt cause I was 12 when I played my first abibas streetball tournament so I was hella impressionable...

Nowadays they cant fool me with their petty tricks. Look at official NBA store. Wouldnt make a purchase there even at the gunpoint. Thats just horrendous-fest over there.

Anyone take their place, Champion, Starter, Reebok, Nike, And1, Pure Playaz, Goatwear...whoever
 
^Just let it go, man. Yes, the 4s look underwhelming; but to bash a brand & then try to switch it around by saying you're just joking AFTER being schooled just looks sad. Looks like 'adibas' not only stole your girl, but married her too...
 
Tom is kinda right... Adidas is terrible when it comes to basketball sig lines...

They are either short lived or their players leave the brand.

Tmacs were garbage after the 3

Kobes were done after the kobe

Arenas and kg line were done because of the team crap concept

How many sigs mutombo have?

Now the rose 4 is looking pretty bland and repetitive.

How much will the rose 4 be? They need to go back to the lower price
 
sniper, nobody got schooled :smile: I'm sayin it for ***** n giggles :smile: but my honest opinion is - I don't care about abibas product because their **** looks...generic. A lot of times. I don't know why. When Peak or Li Ning comes out with that kind of generic "Modern Basketball Sneaker" I'm not surprised, in fact, I expect it. But for whatever reason, abibas has this "historical" tone to them so you would expect...I don't know...trendsetting? At least something along those lines...

Lawd knows they ain't trendsetting **** with the kind of material they pumpin out.

And I agree with NobleKane...Rose is an amazing player and it hurts to see him duped like this. Disgrace.

These will definitely hit outlets, but I don't think it'll be as much as the 3/3.5 due to the injury. It's nice to cop shoes you like for 1/2 (or more) off!

adidas finally coming to their senses...

they should have gone even lower to maybe 120 or 130 since he is coming off an injury....

what did the rose 1 and 2 retail for?

problem with adidas is they did a huge price leap to compensate for the large contract rose signed.

adidas sig shoes were priced more affordable than nikes which was the selling point atleast in my eyes..

then they did the mistake of charging 160 for the rose 3

with nike's disgusting steady increase in price now is the time for adidas to capitalize on that...

120-130 looks way more attractive
 
I'm comparing it to Adidas' own team models.

Rose 1-2.5 = $110

Crazy Light = $130 (Came out after the Rose 1.5)
Crazy Light 2-3 = $140
CrazyQuick = $140
Rose 3-3.5 = $160

Their lower team models are $110 and lower

Rose 4 = $140

Rose 773 Series (D Rose Team Model) - $110

D Rose is their #1 Athlete, it would be weird if his signature sure continued to be cheaper than their top-tier team shoes (Crazy Light and CrazyQuick). I did think it was premature for Adidas to knock the price up $50 from the 2.5, but I think one of the only reasons they dropped it back from $160 was the injury. If he weren't injured and played at least 1/2 the season, I think the numbers would've been good enough for Adidas to justify having the 4 at $160 as well.

If you look at each of their shoes' features, they're very similar, but you're able to see what causes a model to cost more.

Sprint Skin, Sprint Web, Geo Fit, AdiPrene, EVA, TechFit, Torsion, SprintFrame, 

I see Adidas' SprintFrame as akin to Nike's Flywire. Not in terms of what it does, but in terms of hierarchy. Any Adidas basketball shoe that has their SprintFrame is an upper-tier model, just like any Nike shoe with flywire is usually and upper-tier model.
 
I like how they're using that "crushed velvet" look from the Nightmare 3.0's on the 4's.
 
I hate the color change on the back of the shoe it does look generic and in terms of looks the 3s look better imo still kinda bummed I didn't cop the Brenda 3s when I could've got them for really cheap

Congrats on the pick up. That's my favorite color so far. Post pics if you get the change. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see them!
 
Brenda's look really nice with the two tone. I don't like previous Brenda's but it works here. How's the cushioning, same? Wish the geo-fit collar and tongue were thicker.

They're supposed to have adiprene in the heel and be more cushioned. Hopefully when the reviews start popping up, they'll confirm they're more cushioned as I feel rose shoes lack cushioning.

Honestly, I have no idea when I'm going to wear them. I have 3.5s I haven't touched yet LOL. The only D Rose sigs I've played ball on were the 2s and 3s. I don't really play basketball that much these days. I collect because I'm a fan of the player.
