not that I totally agree with what shoe king is saying, but a max player should be able to at least carry his team to the playoffs. Even though his teams have been *** i dont think he's ever had them as a ninth seed
I think the minimum for a max player is to be in the playoffs and to be on the Olympic team (or at least in the training camps)

But there are exceptions. Kevin Love, for example. He deserves to be a max player but he's never been to the playoffs. Injuries and not enough all factor in.

Being that Wall is so young, I think it makes it even more justifiable to give him a max. Hopefully he doesn't go the way of Joe Johnson and Gay but he's still evolving while JJ and Gay were sort of plateauing

Why grab a bum like telfair when you can pay a rookie less and they might actually turn out to be something?

But guys, telfair would be a great pick up, if he lives up to the hype he had his junior year of highschool, then it would be a low risk high reward signing. #5peat
lol I see what you done did there lol...but the thing is oden more or less asset is his size/presence something that skillset/talent has no affect on. Telfair on the other hand will be expected to use his skills/talent/basketball ability and iq to contribute to the team, to which he hasn't shown very much of.

That doesn't make sense from a mathematical standpoint though.

Just about every team is going to have a "max" player, so by that alone means they aren't ALL going to boost their teams records. Someone has to win. Someone has to lose.

His teams were trash. He isn't doing anything.

Not sure if posted

Phoenix Suns set to unveil new uniforms in fashion show

The first chance to see what the Suns will look like next season comes Aug. 15.

No basketball will be involved, but the Suns’ new uniforms will be unveiled in a runway fashion show that will be free to the public. The 7 p.m. event outside Barneys New York at the Scottsdale Fashion Square will feature former and current Suns players modeling the new jerseys — home, away and alternate — including the first sleeved Suns jersey.

The Suns’ various social platforms have been offering teases of the new look over the past month, befitting a team that will have a new look on the court with a new coaching staff and eight new players. The teases began with a suns.com photo that made it clear purple will remain a primary Suns uniform color in the “Planet Orange” era. In the photo, first-round draft pick Alex Len is peeling away a suit to reveal a portion of a purple uniform with orange trim and white lettering trimmed in orange.

The Suns and US Airways Center accounts on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest have also shown other pieces of uniforms. A sunburst patch included orange, gray, purple and black. Orange lettering trimmed in black on a white jersey showed the new font that made its debut last year at the middle of the new Suns home court. Pieces of black numbers on a white jersey, orange numbers on a purple jersey were also shared, the new secondary orange “S” logo with a black sunburst on a white jersey, and orange piping on a white jersey, also were teased and then pooled at nba.com/suns/gallery/newlooksuns.

A “#NewLookSuns” campaign will be launched Monday, including outdoor billboards, and more social media uniform teases will be coming out on the Suns’ mobile app and the Suns’ YouTube and Vine channels.

Suns alumni Alvan Adams, **** Van Arsdale, Walter Davis, Eddie Johnson, Mark West, Tom Chambers, Tim Kempton and Steven Hunter will participate in the fashion show, as will Len and current Suns teammates Eric Bledsoe, Archie Goodwin and P.J. Tucker. Al McCoy will be the event’s emcee with Suns entertainment including The Gorilla and Suns Dancers on hand.

Uniform sales will begin during the show on site and online.

The Suns’ new look began to take form when new or revamped team logos leaked in mid-June. A uniform restyle has been in the works for years and was scrapped and restarted at one point.

The Suns’ original jerseys had a Westernized “PHOENIX” font on the front side with the sides of the shorts featuring the sunburst logo, which Jerry Colangelo paid $400 to have designed. That Westernized lettering and uniform style was kept from 1968-92, when the team underwent a uniform change as it moved into then-American West Arena (now US Airways Center) for the 1992-93 season.

For that silver anniversary season, the uniforms were changed to put “Suns” on the front with a diagonal sunburst. A black version of those uniforms was later included.

The Suns’ most recent uniform restyling came in 2000 with white home jerseys that read “Suns” on the front and had purple sides and purple home jerseys that read “Phoenix” and had gray sides. An orange version of the jersey was added in 2003 with “PHX” on the front and gray sides.

I see Wall catching up to Russ and Rose because looking at his play at the end of the year he's already not that far. You also have to factor in they have much better players around them specifically Russ who plays with the 2nd best player in the world. Wall is a special athlete, you just don't find guys 6'4 with long wingspans and lightening in their feet. With his improving jump shot he has as much potential as any pg in the league as he can already rebound, pass and defend at a high level.

Man get the **** outta here...this Wall praise is killing me. I HATE the way he plays basketball. His game legit is just run down the floor really fast and if he can't get a layup/dunk he just throws it out to a 3 point shooter as the defense closes on him driving down the lane. He has ZERO half court skills and that won't get his team anywhere in the playoffs. Dude isn't even close to Westbrook or Rose. The only comparison is that all three of them are guys that heavily relied on their athleticism when they came into the league.

Things could get interesting at the trade deadline come Feb.

Boston Globe: Just because the Pistons acquired Brandon Jennings in a sign-and-trade deal with the Bucks doesn't mean they've lost interest in Rajon Rondo. In fact, they could eventually use Jennings as a trade chip and seek to acquire Rondo. There are going to be several interested parties in Rondo, and that number could increase when he shows he’s fully recovered from anterior cruciate ligament surgery . .

Disrespectful to even mention Wall in the same sentence as Westbrook and Rose right now. Put him with Bledsoe and Teague

Thank you, dudes are just really searching for ways to push Wall into that top tier pg status :smh:. That half of season he had last year brought his stans back to the forefront.

He has a certain cult following on NT it seems, people have been unusually patient with his progress...3 yrs is usually enough to know what a player is.

Wall is better than Bledsoe and Teague. Those are third tier point guards--solid players that get you to 45 win seasons. Wall is a stud plain and simple. If you need citations, just look at Washington's record when he returned from his injury. John Wall at the moment may not be on the same plane as Rose, CP3, Rondo etc. but he will be by the end of this season. Once he gets a consistent jumpshot, he'll be the talk of this website.

Also CP3>>>> Rose

Nasty

Once again.. Wall's stats at this stage in his career put him in a class with these players:

http://bkref.com/tiny/W7Noh

I don't see Bledsoe on that list. I don't see Jennings on that list. Most of the players on that list are elite or HOF level players. Wall is on pace with them right now.

So if you're saying that Wall isn't on pace to be an elite player, you're being ignorant of the facts.

Has Wall gotten anybody to 45 win seasons yet? Nobody is writing him off, but let's pump the brakes a bit. Can he be healthy a whole season and take them to the playoffs in thee Eastern conference, which only requires like 37 wins first because I agree he's worth a max contract and anoint you top 4 at the position? If that makes me a hater, so be it.
