Why is Kevin Martin considered such a bad player? Do you want him as one of your top scoring options? No. As a 4th option? Yes. I really wanted Memphis to go after him and put him in the 6th man role, but the front office was not giving him the money.

The reason why he did not fair well in OKC was because they depended on him to be the 2nd scorer outside of Durant in the playoffs. It was easy to focus just those two guys because no one else was going to step up. He also did not have anyone to create for him. I think he will do good in Minnesota, but nothing out of the norm.
Bad is an overstatement but he doesn't show up in 4th quarters and big games. Hell, he shoots 13% less from 3 road vs home, single digit scoring in over 20% of games last yr. I'm not sure if there are any more extreme home/road splits in the league than that. He also sucks in 2nd halves compared to his 1st halves (even in his highest scoring game as a Thunder which was 27pts, it was only 3 in the 2nd half. He's just the epitome of a choker if you expect something from him. You could do worse, but you could certainly do better.

looks like he still aint playin anywhere for money

Wow, this Wayne Washington character just won't go away.

And the Simmons story reminds of when I got called out for mistaking braids for dreads. I was like 9 years old at the time. Interestingly, it was a white kid who corrected me, apparently based on his familiarity with skaters. So I guess anyone can make a mistake, but its a little less excusable when you're a 43 year old sports journalist who's been covering the NBA for years. But I don't think its a big deal either. He probably really knows the difference; he just said the wrong thing.

I rock with TGB but this was unnecessary. It was an honest mistake, but hey some notoriety before the game might lead to him getting picked up.

So you back both Mo Williams, and Kevin Martin?

Dude...

Man that 2014 Draft is going to have studs all the way to 25-27, nvm the couple off the radar guys who are sure to break out. Any team that can get multiple lottery picks for 2014 and 2015 is going to thrive.

Yeah, I think we might see some new level tanking in these next couple season, especially 2013-2014. The race for the most ping pong balls will be on by Christmas, I bet.

We already on the cusp fam, Sixers might not even hire a coach this year like **** it. Phoenix putting a team on the floor that would struggle in summer league. Ainge ready to let Boston hate him for a year or two to get right.

Boston has enough draft picks to thrive in style in 3 years. They are going to be real strong in the future, I don't have any doubts. They just have to be patient with Ainge. (which can be tough at times)

I look forward to the weekly articles from Bill slobbing all over the rebuild all year long. :smh:

True. It it wasn't for the fact other teams are going to be tanking, I'd say the Sixers would have a good shot this season to challenge their mark for worst NBA record ever. When Thaddeus Young is your best player, you're looking at bad times ahead.

I'm not so sure, this isn't the NFL.  Pick volume doesn't mean that much in the NBA- it's all about pick quality.  Don't see those Nets picks getting them much.
