interesting theory, but don't forget the tumbled leather on the tongue and the heel.
not saying the red pair coming out in September couldn't be some Jordan 21 "red suede" or "toro bravo"-esque colorway, but I highly doubt it.
and as for them not alluding to Jordan in the colorway when it released, I think they wanted to let those who want to market them as the "yeezy" kobe 9s market them as such.

They mentioned nothing specific about Jordan in the press release, but what else do you think of besides Jordan IIIs when there's a black/white/red color combo, elephant print-type design on the midsole, and tumbled leather design on the heel/tongue? I agree that Nike loves to hype the hell out of each release these days with specific stories/themes, but those are just obvious cues IMO. Maybe there will be something else that's even more obviously Jordan-inspired, but we'll see.
And the moon outsole is honestly the only Michael Jackson specific thing about the purple lows. Besides that, the press release only said the purple upper "pays homage to pop music". Someone can also say it's Prince inspired with that purple upper, or that it's just inspired by pop music in general.

My Perspective's just arrived, looking 100x better in-hand than online
. Really bright and loud cw imo. Went TTS, and have a little bit of extra room in the toe box, but these are for casual wear so no problemo, and other than that these are so comfortable and the fit is amazing. For 177 dollars they are definitely worth the price.

Looking at pics of "Hyper Grape" 9's and can't help but think how *GRAIL STATUS* these would've been had they been LOWS... some of the Best Use of Flyknit ever.
