Fast and Furious Thread: Hobbs and Shaw Spin Off 2019 - Tyrese career ending injury

finally saw ff7 earlier today...man that **** was crazy :x :wow: :smokin. ramsey :wow:. can't believe they coming out with an 8th.

What did you want from Furious 7? Driving Miss Daisy

You didn't like it but you keep driving it home, we get it. It's highly unrealistic but the majority of people don't go in expecting it to be but apparently Furious 7 insulted your intelligence

Write Universal a letter and get your $12 back

another remidial one

again
never once said i didnt like it

To back my man vet. it is one thing to have unrealistic action, but unrealistic to the point that it takes you out of the movie is too much. Yes, dragging a vault is not realistic, neither is driving a car under an 18 wheeler, but it wasn't to the point that made me say or think "c'mon".

***spoiler*** the movie starts out with statham threatening the staff of the hospital that his brother is in, then he turns around a destroys it? Really? Lol. This Bollywoodish type of intro was supposed to suggest the level of bad a__ness that statham was supposed to be. It was so bad, it felt like a parody.

All that being said, I still enjoy the franchise as a whole and I will be watching part 8.

Parody is a good word to describe it, i almost used it previously

as stated
its all conversation for me
im able to to discuss the good and the bad about something and still like it

im also mature enough to listen to someone else discuss the same without accusing them of hating something

Just rewatched 6. :pimp:

Absolute best film in the series. Most complete. Brought everything to the table that the series is known for.

The open, with Brian/Dom racing. The song montage with highlights from the first 5 movies beginning the theme of "family" with what they've all been thru together.

The threat in this film, Owen Shaw waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more legit than the villain in any of the first five. Owen goes toe to toe with both Brian and Dom. The bad guys in 2 and 5 were worthless, didn't even get their hands dirty. The bad guy in 3 was a high school kid.

Braga was fairly legit in 4, and who did he work for? Shaw. And he reappears for this one.

Letty being back. Huge points there.

The Dom/Letty race. Greatness. They showed Dom drifting, they used Nos, AND they had Dom do the move Brian pulled in 2 when he 180's the car and drives in reverse. One race, they touched on the entire series.

The fight sequences. Letty/Reilly. Ja-Roman/Han. The fight on the plane between all of them. Brian/Dom at the pawn shop. Brian in prison with Braga

The ramp cars.

The tank scene.

Redemption getting their pardons. Hobbs dealin straight, knowing while technically "criminals" they weren't threats like governments would consider them.

Letty and Elaina talk at the end, not petty catfighting, but respect for each other.

They had humor, fights, characters back, nods to the series, tied up loose ends by sending Han to Tokyo/showing who was responsible for his death, emotional scene with Gisele dying, over the top action above and beyond the vault, they just flat out hit every mark.

Best villain, Dom/Hobbs workin together, matching team making the threat that much greater, increased action/stakes, incorporating races between OG castmates, it's all there.

Best film in the series just over 5/7.

5 > 6

Not even close.

Shaw was the best bad guy though, I agree.

This... 5 was great, like an actual great movie... It was an action movie, but it wasn't over the top and cartoonish... 6 got silly with the bridge jump and the 27 mile runway...

Don't get me wrong... I enjoyed 6,abd will enjoy 7...but for what they are... I won't complain about the outlandish stuff...

But 5 was the best...

The over the top extreme insanity of 6 is exactly why 6 > 5

The 50 mile runway, bridge jump, the tank, the super villian team that matched them (white Hobbs and African in a beanie ), Owen shaw etc. plus I liked the grander scale being around Europe and how they functioned together in more set roles

That Dom/Letty bridge scene is so ridiculous,

For some reason, to me, it's even more ridiculous than parachuting cars onto a mountain or jumping from building to building via car.

I was :smh: for a good 3 minutes the 1st time I saw that ****.

All I know is that if the earthquake in this San Andreas movie is caused by anything other than Vin Diesel Toretto Stomping the ground, I am going to be extremely disappointed.

Dom looking over to his right to optimus and asking him.

Ride or die?

Y'all got me wanting rewatch the franchise, but I only own 5-6.

Go to target, you can pick them up for about $6 each film. I got all of them.

Just saw #7 in Imax over the weekend and :smh: with :x with :nerd: mixed with

The Building jumping in India was great sequence.

The parachuting cars to me was believable, the military does it.

Dominc "Dont Die" Toretto shouldve died at least 4 or 5 times. " The streets always win" :rolleyes
Im waiting for Dom to confess that hes a mutant or superhero of some sort and will explain how he didnt die.

Kurt Russell was solid.
