If KD is tired of being a servant then yeah it'd make sense for Phil to go after him and for him to consider it. Of course a scenario like that makes you think Melo is gone if that even comes close to going down.

I remember feeling pretty bad for that whole Thunder team when they lost. I also feel like if anybody is going to bolt it'll be Russy first.

If he goes to Miami...I'm done with the NBA

Feeling the exact same way man Haha.

This can't be life lol

I can't even believe why some of you don't want Lebron. Acquiring a player through free agency is how the NBA works, just because it happens to be the greatest player on this planet doesn't mean it's not fair. Should we go after worse free agents?

If melo leaves to miami...

It's cool to post about KD being a Knick but not Melo going to the Heat?

Don't shoot the messenger man lol. I wouldn't be surprised if the NWO down in Miami all decide to take a paycut to get Melo. They've taken a paycut before.

Personally tho I don't really care whether Melo stays or leaves but if he goes to Miami that's really it for me. Also no casual sports fan will take the NBA seriously anymore. It'd all be one huge joke that you won't stop laughing at. All you could do is laugh like O said lol.

So if they're already making it known they're going after KD, then it's pretty clear they're letting Melo walk, and letting him know to his face, si? They can't afford both right? And I mean why would they? Same position right? Basically same player too. plus and minus a few parts. So they're def letting him go

I thought he said chicago last time? Or am i thinking of CB? anyway. who got the hook up on the jorand XI's?
Chris Broussard was the one who said Lebron would be going to Chicago. Actually, I remember the night vividly when he made those statements on ESPN SportsCenter RIGHT after Lebron and the Cavs lost to Boston. LeBron was walking into the tunnel going into the locker room and camera got a great shot of him taking off his jersey.

I forget who the SC anchor was at the time that was discussing where LeBron could end up, but Chris Broussard clearly and vehemently kept saying Lebron would go to Chicago. Now looking back at it--CB never had any credible sources that alluded Lebron would go to Chicago. CB was just speculating that's where Lebron was most interested in going, because of the strong supporting cast Chicago had at the time.

It wasn't until AFTER the NBA Finals where SAS went on ESPN NY and wrote an article stating Lebron might go to Miami to join Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade. I remember the NBA thread touching on that report briefly and many people shrugged the report because of how far-fetched the deal seemed at the time--this was before Michael Beasly was moved the Heat made all that cap space available.
SAS was on hiatus from ESPN at the time so there was no ESPN NY article.

In terms of reporting during the Decision saga, Brian Windhorst and SAS were the biggest winners amongst their colleagues. ESPN made sure to scoop both up a short time later.

Everything else you said was right.

Melo has until the 23rd June to make his decision as to whether he stays, At least after that we can move forward one way or another,
Personally hope he stays, I don't understand why anyone would be happy to see him leave

how the league axe chris paul to the lakers but would be ok with this? different administration, but still

not speaking from a homer point of view, but melo to miami (or any other player of his caliber to miami) would not be good for the league, especially the smaller market teams

at this point i really wound;t mind if carmelo went elsewhere, but the there should be some anti-trust type regulations set for teams

I really don't care any more. Melo wants to be a 4 horseman cool. Be soft. I'll just watch more hockey and baseball. Screw these grown men dancing together so they could win a ring easily. Gutless prima donnas.

agree with the sentiment. it would be hard to ween myself off basketball completely, but the league sure does try its hardest to turn fans off to the game at times

At this point, I think Carmelo should leave. It seems like the thread has some indifference about his status now anyway.

Melo as a 30 year old "superstar" that has never sniffed a NBA finals in his life should only be considering Miami at this point. He saw how everyone criticized lebron up and down constantly until he started winning so he's going to want to do the same. Why would he wait out another year in New York, with Derek Fisher as his coach...laughable man. Haha

First of all...avy to post ratio...

. But you're right. At his age (in NBA years) he has to consider if he wants to win or just collect checks and be the man. He can gamble and stay here and let them build...or he can go to a more contender ready squad. Say what you want about winning one on your own, but it's never been about winning one on your own in the NBA. As it stands for the Knicks, it's hard to even shuffle around a roster with pieces that no one really wants which makes it harder to get what you need to win. If Melo stays, I can see the tide possibly turning for him at 33-34 years old. At that point, the team would need an up and coming star to help him since he'd be on the decline at that point. I'm sure he's thinking about that.
