2014 NFL Draft Thread

I don't know anything about the kid, but it does seem like the only Manziel boosters on NT seem to all be from Texas and have some type of personal interest...

That's how that dudes been though. Make an outlandish statement, wait for someone to respond, accuse them of "caping", rinse, repeat.

You asked how he'll translate to the NFL, but what you really meant is "someone say something good about him so I can give my opinion bashing him", which we already get.

Said multiple times, he'll need to curb how much he runs and do a better job making his reads and getting the ball out on time. If he runs, slide. Clean up some of the throwing mechanics. in college, I don't remember watching a game and thinking, he needs a stronger arm to make that throw. He's pretty accurate too. We're not talking about Tebow in college here

I'm not saying his arm is elite... But pop gun arm like he's Chad Pennington? Just ******ed.

He's got some issues within his game... But his arm strength? Ugh.

He has a better arm than Chad Pennington but dude wouldn't be in the top half of NFL starting quarterbacks as far as arm strength.

So he doesn't have elite arm strength, he's not an elite athlete but he's possibly the 1st overall pick .

It doesn't make sense.

I'd argue Eli Manning doesn't have a elite an strength or is an elite athlete, and yet he's won 2 championships

That's a little bit reductive.  Teddy doesn't have either of those things either, does he?

I wouldn't want to have to take him in the Top 10, but the reality of the league is if you don't have a quarterback, you'd better find one...

If I had to have one, I'd feel better about taking Johnny than Teddy or Bortles.

He has a good, not great arm. Nothing wrong with that.

I think it was Dre who compared him to Jeff Garcia, which I think is 100% spot on. Did Garcia have the strongest arm, no. However, he had no issue in that WC offense and was extremely productive for a few seasons.

you're right dre/double js, vick could make that throw too.... with ease

great post do work-- i don't get all the manzeil hate on here... i mean nobody has a crystal ball, but the man can play football. and will be a top ten pick.

but keep the hate comin :smokin

I'd reached the conclusion that I don't want the Lions to draft an offensive player at all at 10 unless its Sammy Watkins and that ain't happening.

The more I watch Justin Gilbert the more I like him even though I hated him until recently.

I really hope they can trade down though.
