Kobe Trade Thread (vol. Save the Kittens and Puppies)

on the rumor I just posted, reports are that the decision is really on Kobe now. they are waiting for his OK.

Lakers get:
Kirk
Artest
Gordon (maybe)

Bulls:
Kobe

Kings:
?

what I don't get about this rumor is that why don't they just try to get Artest while keeping Kobe. a trio of Kobe/Artest/Lamar would be nice.

I mean with the way he played on the court on tuesday he was going to make a statement.

Why wouldn't the Lakers want large contracts that expire after this season? It's LA. Remember how Shaq signed with LA? The summer 08 FA crop is loaded.

The fact that someone got so excited about a dunk by Roni Turiaf to make a .GIF is comical enough.
The fact that someone made a .GIF of Roni Turiaf dunking on Brian Skinner is pathetic.

I mean...it's Roni Turiaf...and Brian Skinner...not exactly two players that anyone will remember in 5 years when they're both out of the league.

I didn't know PJ was out there. I would take PJ over kwame. A big 3 of Kobe Lamar and Oneal works for me. It at least makes it seems like they want to win. If that team can go far why wouldn't kobe want to stay?

what kobe wants, kobe gets.

kobe is the one who's holding this deal up. give the lakers deng kobe. the organization has helped you make who you are and stuck by you. let the lakers get something back for you to build for the future. that's the least u can do.

u wanna leave the lakers and don't give them a glimmer of hope. :smh:

The thing is... While the Lakers continue to be run by Kobe and Kobe alone, what do you think it does to the composure and growth of the young players.. So its either give Kobe the ball, and continue to be a 7th - 8th seed or trade Kobe and start with the young core in Farmar, Walton, Bynum, Turiaf and rebuild.. It does nothing for the team when only one person gets on a roll, and everyone else is a mere scenery.. Not saying that the Rocket game is going to depict the entire season, but this has been going on since Shaq has left.. None of those young players have reached their potential, and rightfully so, it's hard to do that when the ball is Kobe's basketball.. Those young guys need some actual burn and trust, and right now they don't get that.. Not saying all are deserving of that trust, but until they gain that respect, they are going to be mere busts..

That is All... Oh, and get Maurice Evans off of that team.

And if the Lakers trade Kobe to the bulls.. They're gonna have to get Gordon and Heinrich and possibly Sefolosha or Tyrus Thomas and some picks.. But, if the Lakers somehow get Luol Deng, then I feel the Lakers will be a borderline playoff team.. That's how good Deng is..

The Arenas trade is also something that could go down.. I see that happening as well..

Rotoworld sources are relaying that Detroit radio station 1270 AM reported Wednesday that the Lakers and Pistons had a "done deal" as of 6:45 PM on Tuesday that would have sent Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Amir Johnson and a first-round pick to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.

Both teams had reportedly agreed to the deal, but Bryant alledgedly vetoed it with his no-trade clause, apparently not wanting to go to a depleted Detroit team. It will be interesting to see how the Pistons' players mentioned in the deal react to this news. Nov. 14 - 7:39 pm et
